Huntly Hairst Huntly Hairst, Celebrating Rural Life Together A festival held each year in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, UK to promote and showcase local food production.

Usually on the first weekend in September, the festival coincides with the Scottish Food Fortnight. The Saturday events centre around the monthly Farmers Market in The Square, which is expanded for this month to include stalls which do not normally appear. It will have demonstrations by local producers and other food businesses. It hosts the now annual World Stovies competition and many other fun

events. On Sunday the action moves to Leith Hall & Gardens for the Big Picnic an opportunity to enjoy food purchased at the market in a beautiful setting. The Rare Breeds of North East Scotland bring their animals for you to see and interact with. There will also be opportunities to see where food is made and comes from through the gardens, food producers and foraging.

We would just like to thank everyone who came to see us and supported us by coming down to the Shop or by going to Gary’s Butchery demonstration at the Stewart’s Hall yesterday!!

It was great to see the town so busy and Huntly buzzing all day!! A huge well done and thank you must go to all the organisers and volunteers who made this years “Hairst” another very successful one!!

It was great to see a lot of new faces in the shop yesterday as well as our loyal regular customers. Our special “Huntly Hairst” Packs proved very popular… we hope you all enjoy the produce from them!!

It was also great to see a big crowd turnout to see Gary’s Butchery demonstration with his very own Aberdeen Angus Beef, we hope you all enjoyed it, learned something and the steaks were up to scratch!!

And a huge well done and congratulations to Anne Borthwick who was the winner of the Air Fryer with her lucky ticket we hope you enjoy cooking up lots of great meals with it!!

That’s the Huntly Hairst over and out for another year…. Here’s to Huntly Hairst 2027!!

A MASSIVE thank you from the Huntly Hairst team to everyone who helped make today so special.

A very special shout-out to the amazing team working behind the scenes — Collin, the Air Cadets, our Hall Keeper Graham, Castle Coffee House, Forbes Raeburn, and every single person who gave their time, energy and support.

And of course, thank you to everyone who came along, supported local, shopped local, ate local and helped create such an incredible atmosphere in Huntly. 🥰

It really does take a community to make an event like this happen, and once again Huntly showed us exactly what community spirit looks like! ❤️

It was an absolute belter of a day — and we've got lots more to share with you soon, including some very special moments from the day…

🚗 PARKING REMINDER – Huntly Hairst TOMORROW

A wee reminder to everyone parking in The Square during Huntly Hairst.

Please note that there is NO OVERNIGHT PARKING in The Square.

All vehicles must be removed by 6am to allow the event team and traders to get everything ready for the big day.

We really appreciate your help and cooperation in making sure everything runs smoothly.

All the signs are up on the square this afternoon so no excuses 😅
