Huntly Hairst Huntly Hairst Food Festival A festival held each year in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, UK to promote and showcase local food production.

Usually on the first weekend in September, the festival coincides with the Scottish Food Fortnight. The Saturday events centre around the monthly Farmers Market in The Square, which is expanded for this month to include stalls which do not normally appear. It will have demonstrations by local producers and other food businesses. It hosts the now annual World Stovies competition and many other fun

events. On Sunday the action moves to Leith Hall & Gardens for the Big Picnic an opportunity to enjoy food purchased at the market in a beautiful setting. The Rare Breeds of North East Scotland bring their animals for you to see and interact with. There will also be opportunities to see where food is made and comes from through the gardens, food producers and foraging.

We're excited to introduce our new Trail Menu Maps for 2026!

Celebrating the fantastic local producers who make our dishes possible.

From Highland beef and venison to local honey, craft beer and wholesome ingredients, each recipe tells the story of the people behind the produce. 🐝🥕🍺🌿

📱 We've also created handy QR codes this year so you can scan, save and print the recipe posters straight to your phone. (Sheets will also be available on Hairst market day, Sat 5th Sept, from the info stall)

Perfect for recreating these delicious dishes at home and sharing with family and friends.

✨ WOW.… YOU’VE DONE IT AGAIN! ✨

We are absolutely delighted (and a little blown away!) to share that Huntly Hairst Square and all indoor venues, ( The Bank Cafe & Restaurant, Huntly , Number 30 ) are now FULLY BOOKED for 2026 🎉

From the bustling square to our brilliant indoor spaces, the support from traders, makers, foodies, community groups and creatives has been incredible.

The excitement for Saturday 5th September 2026 is already building, and with a full week of events planned, it’s shaping up to be something very special 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who has applied, supported and continues to believe in what Huntly Hairst brings to the town each year.

This year, Huntly Hairst invites you to be part of something truly special as we celebrate our 2026 theme: Food Story.

Every product, every plate, and every person has a story to tell. From the provenance of our incredible local producers, where food is grown, reared, and crafted. To the personal stories of our community, Food Story brings these connections to life.

Huntly Hairst is a week-long celebration of culture, community, and local produce, culminating in our market day on Saturday 5th September. Join us as we shine a spotlight on the journey from field to fork, celebrate the passion and heritage behind the food we enjoy, and highlight the sustainability of our market.
