Progress Update:

Finally with some time available after all having returned to work we have met to push forward with P4P. Here's an update following a meeting we held last week...

We reviewed our original briefing paper and decided to move on from early tasks in order to complete a feasibility assessment – items requiring village input can be returned to once this is complete.

Five established local parks will be looked at and information gathered on the facilities, land size and costs involved. Data will then be used to draft a high level specification for the Perry playground, and land options can then be addressed (securing land will be a major deciding factor on whether or not the project is feasible).

It was put forward to the Parish Council that perhaps Playground 4 Perry could team up with the Allotment Working Party with a view to securing land together – an option could be for an alternative type of playground, including a children’s secret garden.

The group will now meet monthly to progress the project.

Hi everyone. An update on progress for you....

We were waiting for a decision from the Parish Council on how they could support us back from our meeting in December.

Last night they informed us they are going to provide us with a fund of £250 towards getting our play park project off the ground - we will work as an independent group and go back to the Parish Council with updates and for any help/consultation required.

As you may know, there is no land owned by the Parish that would be suitable, so we will be looking at all options available. If anyone has any ideas to help please message us directly.

We will continue to work through our plan and will keep you up to date on progress via this page.

Thank you
Laura and Sarah

Thanks to everyone who came along to support our community initiative this evening. The Chairman announced his support for us, however Councillors will need to review our briefing paper (attached) before taking a vote on their overall support.

Hi All - a quick update to let you know that Playground 4 Perry is working away in the background at the moment.

While we're sticking to our plan we've also been asked by the Parish Council to produce a Briefing Paper for them so that a vote can be taken on their interest/support - we will share this with you soon.

In the meantime if you are visiting any playgrounds elsewhere please take some photos for us for ideas (whilst being considerate to users and their privacy) and send them in, along with the location 🙂

So far we've been contacted by 16 parents and 3 grandparents and we've found up to 47 children who could benefit from improved play facilities in the village.

We've got some more people to speak to and then we'll let you know what we're doing next.

Thank you everyone for your interest, we've had a fantastic response over night! :-)We're going to continue reaching out...

Thank you everyone for your interest, we've had a fantastic response over night! :-)

We're going to continue reaching out to parents and grandparents until we feel that we've got the village covered, so if you know anyone with (grand)children then please let them know about us and ask them to get in touch.

And we'll keep you up to date on progress via this page.

Please like and share.

Our plan at the moment :-)See our Story on the About page for more details.

We are a group of Mums in Perry who have recently got together to install new/improved play facilities in the village for our children.

We would really like to hear from other parents and grandparents in the village so that we can understand how many children there are and of what ages, and get a group together to work on a solution.

We are in the early stages of getting this group running, but we already have interest from the Parish Council and a number of parents.
