What a fantastic afternoon we enjoyed at the bandroom today for our Easter “Music, Tea & Cake” event. It was wonderful to see such a large turnout again in the bandroom. Thank you to everyone who attended and showed their support for our growing community—your encouragement is sincerely appreciated.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Catherine and Rachel for their continued hard work behind the scenes, which makes events like this possible.
It was a pleasure to hear the progress of our young musicians from the Skelmanthorpe Brass Band Community. You performed brilliantly from the first note to the last, and we are incredibly proud of you all. Please keep up the excellent work.
We would also like to offer a special thank you to Jonathan Bates, Musical Director of the Skelmanthorpe Band , for giving up his time to join us.
With thanks,
Robert, Steve, Penny, Catherine and Rachel 🎺🎶

Last Wednesday marked Rachel’s final music evening at Meltham CE Primary School, bringing to a close an extraordinary 37-year career. The occasion was recognised by the Calendar news team, who reported live from the concert. As part of the coverage, Michael Billingham spoke with pupils about the impact Rachel has had on the school community.
It was a fitting tribute to a career spanning nearly four decades. We wish Rachel a happy and well-deserved retirement in the coming months.
