Shuttling all weekend, and all next week except Monday, unless we have crew. From Friday 28th the old Shuttle will be trimmed up for Halloween, and on Sunday 30th we'll have the Watery Witch on board for spooky kids Halloween stories. Might be some surprise extras too (surprise because even we don't know what they are....) The boat will still be spooky on Monday 31 so if you're not all Halloweened out come and scare the crew!

22/07/2022

The Marsden Shuttle will be running this Saturday and Sunday as usual. Pick up your lift to the Visitor Centre or back to Marsden from around 10.30 until 16.00.

From the 27th July (next Wednesday) the Shuttle will be running EVERY DAY if we have enough crew. We'll be running right through the School holidays until September. Now we have the e-Shuttle it means that even if we have a private charter (usually weddings) we can still provide the public service.

Looking forward to Sunday 31 July - it's Tunnel End Festival so it's going to be a busy Shuttling Day! Both boats running.....

The Huddersfield Narrow Canal 21st birthday celebrations are out of the way, so we can start planning this years post-lockdown music festival at Tunnel End on the 31st July. Watch this space and follow the page for more information, but one thing we can announce is that we now have TWICE the capacity to get you there from the car park and Marsden Station. Here’s a snap of our brand new, all electric, little beauty being steered by no less than Robbie Cummins of the BBC’s Canal Boat Diaries. The original Shuttle will be running too if you prefer an old fashioned Diesel engine.

See you there!

🅿️Key Parking Information🅿️

Updated for 2025

As part of our commitments to being good neighbours and ensuring that roads around our site remain clear for emergency access, we have a parking strategy in place.

We kindly ask guests to use the kirklees council car park which is located near the railway station in Marsden (150 spaces). Postcode HD7 6DH

Unfortunately, this has recently become a pay for parking site, and requires users to use the Ringo parking app.

Charges are as follows:
2 hours - free
3 hours - £0.80
4 hours - £1.60
5 hours - £2.40
7 hours - £3.30

From there, you can board the free Marsden Shuttle (Check times on their page, Donations encouraged) or take the step free 10-15 minute stroll down the towpath to reach us at Tunnel End.

♿ For those with mobility difficulties, we have 6 spaces dedicated to persons with reduced mobility (Strictly Blue Badge Required) close to our main attraction (Postcode HD7 6NQ)

Our other spaces close to our attraction are dedicated to our staff and volunteers. Please do not park on either Reddisher Road or Waters Road. This is to ensure that our neighbours can continue to park outside their homes and also ensure that emergency service vehicles can pass freely.

Thankyou for your understanding, We hope to see you soon!
