Hello everyone! I hope you’ve all been coping with the SWELTERING heat this week! 🥵 ☀️

Just bobbed on here for a quick moment to talk about Children’s Ear Piercings. I’ve had an inundation of messages asking who I’d recommend now that I’m not piercing.

My most local recommendation 100% goes to Sam at GypsyBlades Piercing in Holmfirth. She specialises specifically in children’s ear piercing and I would frequently refer clients her way if a child was a bit too young for me to feel comfortable booking in, I believe she pierces from 5+ but please do message Sam to confirm before booking if you have a young child.
Sam, Lisa, and me all sing / sung from the same hymn sheet; we would attend piercing conferences together, refer clients between one another, and work to very similar standards. She doesn’t use guns, she practices asepsis like I did (sterile gloves etc), she stocks tons of verified jewellery, and she’s a lot of fun to be around!

(Lisa-Rose is working in pet care nowadays at Black Rose Pet Care, which is the reason why she’s not also included in this post 🙂 it won’t let me tag for some reason but if you search it should come up!)

Sam, like Lisa, has done some of my own piercings; I wouldn’t recommend someone locally that I haven’t ‘tried’ myself!

Sam knows a LOT of the same piercers that I do as we run in the same circles so if you need a recommendation closer to where you live, do drop her a message. 🙂
I’m sorry I can’t help more. But I’ve had to prioritise extreme rest, which I’m trying to do as best I can, so I haven’t seen any messages.

I will be back with Permanent Jewellery pop ups in due course, but it probably won’t be 2026.
I’m okay, just not there yet. 🙂

Have a wonderful summer, everyone!
Take care of your kiddies ears. 👂🏻✨
You’ve no excuse, don’t say it’s ‘because Amy’s not piercing’, I’ve given you the place to go! 😉

Well… that’s a wrap! 32 going on 72, I am officially retired! 😆 👵🏻

But seriously though… in a world that glorifies being busy, I’ve learned that it’s worth remembering the value of slowing down and taking care of yourself. I’m told that once you stop rushing through life - hustling, grinding, pushing, competing… you’ll be amazed at how much life you suddenly have time for. And I’m really, truly looking forward to that. 😌

I am so glad and so grateful to be able to close this chapter with no regrets and no “what if”s.

Looking back, piercing saved me in so many ways. When I started I was in my early 20’s, a high school drop out that’d hopped from job to job for a while, just moved back to Huddersfield after living in Germany for an extended time, broken and disoriented from the news of my father passing. I was lost, anxious, grieving, scared, and had no idea where I was going to go or what I was going to do. And then the opportunity turned up. I buckled down, worked hard, and things started falling into place. I could feel how proud my Dad would be of me; I get my entrepreneurial streak from him, he always told me to be my own boss one day (as he’d always wanted to), and I did. I built it, I loved it, I helped people to smile and feel great about themselves, I used my anecdotal experience in panic and anxiety to hold others hands through theirs, and in turn you all played an important part in my healing journey too. 🖤

I also can’t bring my last working day as a piercer to a close without a very special mention to my amazing Mum. 💖
I need to be careful not to well up while I write this but I genuinely, truly mean it when I say that NONE of any of your piercings would have been possible at all - and I wouldn’t have lasted as long as I did - without the unrelenting love, support, encouragement, and faith that my Mum has had in me and my piercing career. She was the very first one to believe in me when I told her my idea, and when she agreed, that’s how I knew I must be on to something! She gave me the confidence to go out there and do it, she has been my absolute rock through the good, the bad, the ugly, and the downright f*cked up - she’s seen every single stage of this journey from back to front, kept me going when I overthought and doubted (of which there has been a LOT), cheered me on when I won (of which there has also been a lot!), fought my corner and held my chin up for me when I was at my most vulnerable in twisted toxic situations. She supported me when I started life again at 20something on apprentice wage (which was then £3something an hour!), she was so proud of me when I took flight on my own as a lone piercer after my apprenticeship, she helped to ease me back into work after being there with me at the birth of my daughter and she’s been a constant presence behind the scenes for all these years - keeping me (semi) sane while I drive her bananas 🤣, keeping me going, helping me solve problems, letting me rant, sharing my joy with my happy stories, checking in with me when I’m quiet / burnt out, and all the while…at some point, meaning and meaning to get her second lobes repierced that she used to have when I was little.

And in being my last piercing (pic to follow), in true Mum form, she waited for everyone else to have their turn first. 💖
(Either that or she needed 10 years of literal human shields to see how everyone else got on before offering herself up to the guillotine! 🤣)

Thank you so much, Mum. For everything. There are a lot of happy people out there with their sparklies all because you were always there for me. I love you! 🫶🏻

Thank you to every single person I’ve crossed paths with during my time as a piercer. I know some of you are hesitant now as we’ve built such strong relationships of trust, but believe me, I am only a mosaic of everyone I’ve ever learned from! There are plenty of fantastic piercers out there and I will reiterate again my top two locally (as Lisa is also retired now!):

• Sam Holmes, Gypsy Blades Piercing - Holmfirth.
• Lil Jackson, Swamp Girl Stabs - Liversedge.

If you need recommendations for a little further afield, do take a look at:
• The Golden Twilight, Halifax -
• Holier Than Thou, Manchester -
• Stay Sharp Studio, Altrincham -
• Bee Tattooed, Stockport -
• Vesso Art, Pocklington -
• That Place, York -

This page will stay up while this post has chance to be viewed, and then I will be deactivating it for a while in order to take a big, long, clean break to find my baseline. It’s not being deleted, just deactivated for a while. 😊 (And before I do, once I’ve had chance to sift through the very last of the jewellery I’ll put some final reduced items up which I can post out, if interested!)

I will not be tending to any further piercing enquiries here on out. Thank you for respecting my space from here, and refer to the lists above. 🖤

But just, again, THANK YOU 🙏🏻 and Happy New Year, everyone! 🥂 ✨
Here’s to happiness, health, family, love, slower living, and to new dreams! 🖤

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! 🎄
Just a quick note before the masses descend 😅 I am completely chockablock today and NYE so I’m afraid I cannot accommodate any walk ins or additional bookings now. I’m already overbooked as I wasn’t originally down for doing them as full days; doing my best to squeeze everyone in before closing!
Thank you for your patience, thank you so much for your bookings, and apologies for any inconvenience. I’m a people pleaser at work - I absolutely would’ve booked more in if I could’ve. 🖤

✨ Quick check-in! ✨
First of all, thank you again for all the love, support, and even tips and gifts 🥹🥰 I’m so relieved with the understanding I’ve received from you all thus far, and it’s definitely emotional doing your piercings for the last time - some of you have been with me from the beginning!! I can’t tell you how much it means!

Just wanted to give a brief heads up that I’m now fully booked until after Christmas, but I do have a couple of hours space left on the afternoon of Saturday 27th and a couple of hours in the late morning / mid afternoon on New Year’s Eve. So don’t leave it too late! 💖

Remember also, you can still take advantage of the jewellery sales with Lisa aswell as myself. Don’t worry, you’re not too late (yet!), we can find a space for you! 😄

✨ ANNOUNCEMENT ✨
In the words of Rafiki… “It is time.” 🦁

Deep breaths.
Here we go:
Timeless Studios will close its doors for the final time on December 31st, 2025.

(I know… I know! I’m sorry!)

Before I really get into it though, PLEASE don’t worry - all remaining jewellery orders are being completed, and if you have ongoing projects with me, I’ll list recommendations at the end of this post.

So I know this may come as a shock, maybe even a disappointment, so I want to share openly what has led me here and why this choice, while emotional, is NOT a tragic one. 🙂 It’s a step towards healing and a healthier future.

💛 The long road to this decision…

Beliiieve me, this has taken MONTHS of thought, countless conversations, and more rewrites than I can count. (You all know what I’m like!) But I stand by this wholeheartedly: this IS the right choice.

Why? Well…

Over the past couple of years, I was diagnosed with a lifelong chronic illness and invisible disability: Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E / ME-CFS). Some of you know this already, but for those who don’t:
It’s a misunderstood and under researched condition that affects nearly every part of my daily life, it’s sort of similar to Long Covid but it’s genetic and generally…well, kind of a lot worse.
It’s like living with a phone battery that never fully charges, a body that moves through treacle, and a brain engine that sputters no matter how many times I turn the key. It’s more than just tiredness, it’s all consuming *exhaustion*. It’s more than just absent mindedness, it’s complete derealisation. It’s more than just needing some extra sleep, it’s having all the passion and motivation in the world but living in a body that’s completely debilitated for days, or even weeks, no matter how much rest you get.

It’s suspected I’ve had this since my teens. Those who know me personally or have worked alongside me might be nodding along now, thinking… ‘ahhh, that explains it.’

I suspected it for years due to similarities with a family member, but it wasn’t until a client in the medical field noticed my hands trembling as I handed her the card reader that it all came to light. I’d been casually chatting about how I’d been feeling, not realising I was actually inadvertently listing symptoms that I never even knew were symptoms. Things I (and other doctors) had chalked up to anxiety, overwhelm, depression, even burn out… and suddenly made sense.

The dizziness.
The shakes after pushing myself too hard.
The excessive need for sleep.
The brain fog and forgetfulness.
Needing to sit down after the smallest tasks.
Days to recover after a fully booked day.
Good days of high function, followed by days completely bed bound.
This all happens at home as well as at work, so I couldn’t even explain it away because of work when I’d taken time off.

What I didn’t realise until too late, was that I wasn’t just * tired*… I was chronically ill, and had been for a very long time.
And sadly, I didn’t get my formal diagnosis until after expanding Amy Jo Piercing into Timeless Studios.

Expanding felt like destiny at the time; the downstairs space became available, the right people came into my life at the right time, and everything aligned. I envisioned a thriving team that would allow the business to grow even when I couldn’t physically be in the studio every day.

But owning a multi faceted business with M.E is a very different life from being a standalone piercer. And while my passion was enormous, my physical capacity simply was not. Not anymore.
Little by little, my condition worsened, shifting from mild-moderate into moderate-severe. And with M.E, pushing past your limit doesn’t just make you tired. It permanently lowers your baseline - your ability to basically function as a person on a day to day basis.

I realised that if I kept going the way I was, I would lose far more than my studio. I realised that I could genuinely be taking years off my life simply by continuing to push and push through today.

And so I thought of my daughter, who needs me.

So for the sake of my health, my future, and my family, I had to make a choice and draw a line in the sand, gently bringing a beautiful chapter to a soft close. 🤍

“But why don’t you go back to being a piercer on your own?”

Well, I thought about that too, but something else happened when I finally accepted that my body needed me to stop: my *heart* agreed too.

After 10 years of piercing, it feels strangely right (bittersweet, yes, but right) to “hang up my needles” now.

Piercing has been the greatest adventure of my life. I’ve reached milestones I thought were a decade away! I learned everything I set out to learn (and more!) I worked with suppliers I once only dreamed of and admired from afar. I attended unforgettable conferences and made friends I’ll cherish forever. I built the studio I dreamed of, and I helped elevate, educate, and modernise piercing in Huddersfield.

I proved my point - to myself AND to those who once said I couldn’t. 💪🏻
Through blood, sweat, tears, and a fair amount of debt 😂 I did what I set out to do.
I made my mark.
I crossed my finish line.
And now my body is telling me…you’ve done it, Amy, you don’t have to run the victory lap at your own expense. 🫂

It’s time to fill a cup I’ve neglected for far too long.

✨ So… what’s next?!
Don’t write me off yet because I’m not disappearing! ✨

Here’s the good news (finally! 😮‍💨)
This is not the end of me!

I’m stepping away from piercing, but I’m not disappearing.
I have a few gentle projects in the works while I take time to rest and retrain. Jewellery still has a big piece of my heart, and I’m not ready to close that door. 👀

I’ll also be continuing with Permanent Jewellery. 😊
I’ll be available for:
✨ Private events (weddings, hens, birthdays, graduations, baby showers)
✨ Select seasonal markets & festivals
✨ Occasional pop-ups

This page will stay open while I recover, regroup, and reshape my next chapter!

❤️ And now to the Thank You’s

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
To every client who trusted me.
To everyone who left reviews, recommended me, and supported me.
And to Lisa-Rose and Adam, who brought their talent, warmth, and creativity into Timeless Studios - none of this would have been possible without you. Sam, too, who was the very first to join the new team (Sam left earlier in the year for personal reasons.)
Please follow and support them all as they move on to their next adventures. They deserve every good thing coming their way!

✨ For ongoing piercing clients…

For new piercings and jewellery changes, please contact Lisa-Rose.

I also strongly recommend:
• Sam Holmes – Gypsy Blades Piercing, Holmfirth
• Lil Jackson – Swamp Girl Stabs, Liversedge

After the New Year, I’ll no longer be able to help with piercing or body jewellery queries so please reach out to Lisa-Rose, Sam, or Lil. 🙂

🤍 Finally…

Thank you for giving me a decade of memories, joy, creativity, connection, and purpose.
Piercing was my dream job, and because of you, I got to live that dream fully.

But now it’s time for rest, healing, and new beginnings. And even though change is scary, I’m genuinely excited to see where this next chapter leads!

And keep your eyes peeled - we’ve got a LOT of stock to move in the next few weeks, so prepare for my End of Era sales. 😉

It feels good to finally get this off my chest and I hope it makes sense. Please be patient with me while I phase things out and gently close things down, making space for new beginnings. 🙂

If you want to get pierced or styled by me one last time, NOW is the time to book it in!
