On the bench today.. the Judge Dredd Aspen Guard mouthpiece prepped ready for moulding.. once I've got moulds I'll rework the casts into new masters. These will be moulded again so I can get nice clean but accurate parts to complete my replica helmet.. one step closer!!

So I decided I hadn't had enough punishment this week and joined a team installing a big summer beach up in Scotland.. its nearly 5am and I'm abit tired.... another all nighter!

Looks good though... I'm just on the team this time, I didn't actually make anything for this one. Glutton for punishment!!

The end is in sight.. its been the most gruelling last minute job I've done in a couple of years. I've done all nighters before which is hard in itself but this last push to finish has been 2 all nighters back to back.. I started around 9.30 Saturday morning and now it's 5am Monday morning.. that's 43 and a half hours so far.. maybe got another 3 or 4 to go. Knackered isn't even half of how I feel right now. Not enjoyed this one at all but it's money in the bank when I really need it. Gonna take a day or 2 to recover and then on with some fun stuff..

Lost count of what day I'm on but the filling and sanding continues.. tomorrow's the last one and that'll be all day and all night! But while I tap this message and sip my cup of strawberry water I'm looking around at all the cool stuff I'll be on with next week.. some helmets, some creature heads, some weaponry, a car and lots of other cool things.. there is a light at the end of the tunnel after all...

And maybe even some pics and videos too..

While I'm filling and sanding big prop/set pieces my mind wanders onto other things like, why am I doing this? Could I be making more money doing other things? Is my time being spent on the right/wrong things? I suppose alot depends on if I quoted right at the beginning and at the end how long I have to wait to get paid... if I wait too long then what I've made gets dumped straight into the landlords bank account and I've made nothing. Cash flow is important or it'll pull you down. Certain kinds of jobs are good for cash flow.. eg, an item is paid for then it goes.. others are bad.. eg, I spend 2 weeks on a job and then get to wait 3 weeks until its paid. That's potentially 5 weeks without funds! It's not always easy to get paid once a job gets finished. Circumstances don't always allow that but looking to the future I guess I need to focus more on what's good for cash flow and maybe steer away from the others.. anyway, back to the filling and sanding. I've 3 more 16 hour days to do before this one goes on Monday and my landlords Ferrari needs fuel...

Hi everyone..

Just checking in as proof of life..

I've been burning the candle at both ends as usual on multiple projects most of which I'm unable to show you! There's a very large sculpted piece taking up most of my loading bay area which I'll be done with after the weekend and then I'm holding off on similar projects to try and focus on all the helmets, suits, boom sticks, creature heads etc, that are cluttering workbenches in other areas of the workshop. I know most of you follow the page go see that stuff and it's what I enjoy doing the most. Also, the clearing of stuff needs to take more of a priority than it has been over the last week. I know a couple of people are waiting on purchases which I'll attend to soon as possible.

I've made alot of space already. Some things I've had to chop up and dispose of, some I've given away and others I've managed to sell. All this needs to continue until I've cleared 1/3 of my workshop. I've figured out this process will take a year to do. The workshop has been a dumping ground for the 8 years I've been in here. It's easy to fill up a space when you've got it but now it's become impossible to function properly and all of the unit needs to pay for itself. So that's the plan for the workshop.

Another change will unfortunately need to be my pricing.. costs to me are increasing enormously. Fibreglass materials increased 15% in one week and 35% the week after.. my rent here has doubled in the last 12 months. I'm also now faced with new rates bills imposed by the local authority which is a new and expensive cost.

So there's a short insight into some of the ideas that are buzzing around in my head. I'm looking forward to getting stuck in and making the workshop a more profitable space and not a storage unit.

Please keep watching the page as I'll put some things on here if I think some of you might be interested in it and ebay for the wider audience. It's going to take alot of time and effort to get through everything that I need to sell..!

I'll continue putting ebay links on via listing so anyone wanting to follow listing can find them easily..

Apologies all... I'm supposed to be filling up my ebay shop with lots of lovely things but been so busy this week I've not even been to that end of the unit.. I've a big job came in with a 10 day turnaround, impossible as always! Plus everything else..

However I'm managing to fill up my skip and made quite abit of space to work on this silly job so a positive has emerged from all the chaos.

Might even break even this month if I'm really lucky!!
