Our summer concert features a 150th Anniversary performance of James Battye's glee "Hail, Memory, Hail!"

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE ABOVE PIECE:
Special thanks are due to choir member Richander Birkinshaw for her work on producing this glee for the choir. Straight after its formation in 1875 the choir won a competition in Manchester with the above piece as part of the performance. The prize money was £70.00, a huge amount in those days. Choir members celebrated their win in premises on Zetland Street, Huddersfield, with a knife and fork tea!

A review received from a member of the audience at our winter concert:-

The November 2024 concert was most enjoyable. Such a variety of music as well, with the brass band as guests. I attend the Huddersfield Singers’ concerts whenever I can, and I do think the standard of singing is very high for a local choir. Very impressed with the Alex Woodrow’s direction; the choir obviously enjoy working with him. Looking forward to hearing them again in March.” (Audience member TS).
