After their amazing set at this years Kirkwood Festival, they are back next year.

Joining Day Two ... Longwood Theatre Productions will bringing a set from their Autumn musical "Beautiful The Carole King Musical" to the Courtyard Stage for The Weekender.

Merry Christmas Eve!

I just wanted to pop on with one final post for 2023
❤️🙏

I'd like to personally thank every single one of you for all your support throughout the Kirkwood Festival this year! It was the biggest event I've ever held but with the team at Lawrence Batley Theatre on hand to help it all went seamlessly! With your support, since 2020, we have raised over £11000, probably aiming more to the £12000 side for The Kirkwood but not only that you are helping keep my mum's memory alive for a little bit longer!

This year, we introduced sponsor an artist. Thank you to all of those local businesses who sponsored them as this ensured all the money raised on the day could go straight to The Kirkwood x

Thank you to all the local singers and dancers for offering their time to perform for us and the local independent stalls for believing in my mission, joining us to sell their wares and booking again for 2024 (quickest sell out EVER!) .. Thank you to the volunteers on the day Michelle Barlow, Nikki McMath Eden, Julia and the amazing team at The Kirkwood ❤️🙏

Thank you to Lawrence Batley Theatre. Without you, there wouldn't be a Kirkwood Festival or a Weekender next year ❤️ Thank you for allowing me to use such an amazing space and for providing such great teams to help me with my mission 🙏

Every year, I have one fear! What if noone turns up. But every year, you come out in your masses!

£5 per person to take part and maximum teams of 4. The winning team will win 4 tickets to Huddersfield Light Opera Company's adult only pantomime Red Riding Hood on Tue 16 January.

As a registered charity (No. 510693), your support ensure that we can bring the magic of theatre to local people year-round. All money raised across the quiz night will go towards supporting our charitable work in the community.

Good afternoon everyone,

Just thought I'd do a little introduction to all those joining the group!

Hello, I'm Rob 👋 ... Organiser of The Kirkwood Weekender which is at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in August 2024.

Sadly, in April 2016, after a short illness my mum passed away at The Kirkwood! The care she received from the Hospice was second to none and it brought such warmth to what was a traumatic time for the rest of the family.

She passed away on April 10th after spending one week at the Kirkwood. From that day, I swore to carry on her legacy in a fitting way to her. My mum was very big for the community. She loved bringing people together. In 2020, i launched the zoom quiz for Kirkwood and 2021 we ventured in to the world of Fairs.

In 2022, we moved to my work place of the Lawrence Batley Theatre and launched the Kirkwood Live. This year we hosted the Kirkwood Festival which was pretty special and next year we host the Kirkwood Weekender, a Friday evening and Saturday all day event of live entertainment. With one aim. To bring people together. To bring families and communities and friends together to have a bloody good time like mum always did.

I hope to see you there ♥️

They make super sparkly and unique bows and headbands and specialise in headbands for keeping hearing aid and cochlear implants in place!
