A WEEK TO GO! Next monthly blues at Smile Bar it’s the mighty Leeds City Stompers 25 June £5 ticket (link in comments). Leeds City Stompers play “the kind of authentic blues that created rock and roll. 1920s jazz and ragtime as played by Louis Armstrong or Blind Blake; 1930s delta blues as played by Robert Johnson or 1940s electric Chicago blues as played by Elmore James or T Bone Walker. Formed in 2011 the band has headlined the acoustic stage at Colne and enjoys regular shows at Domino Leeds, Bootleggers Nottingham and Zefferellis in Ambleside.” Get your tickets in!

Top notch teenage guitarist sensation Jack-Austin Despy Blues Band, from Essex, is already being recognised as one of the UK’s brightest new blues talents. At thirteen he performed at the Rory Gallagher Festival UK in Nantwich where he amazed the audience with his guitar skills.

Despite his youth, he appeared at major venues and festivals including the Ballyshannon Rhythm & Blues Festival, Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival in Ballyshannon, and the iconic 100 Club in London.

In 2025 and 2026 he was nominated for the UK Blues Federation awards: Jules Fothergill Young Blues Artist of the Year in which he was a finalist.

ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT 🔥🎸 Ben Buddy Slack will be playing the Saturday at BluesburyFestival 11th-13th September 2026 on Platform 3 West Riding Beerhouse Dewsbury Train Station. Bring on the Blues, Beer and Bangers!

Ben has paid his blues dues as front man for The Blind Dead Mcjones Band. He is also a very strong man and on Swansong Saturday will be performing solo and raising funds for The Swan Song Project charity which "writes songs with people facing end of life. Celebrating lives, making memories and leaving legacies"
