"I recommend this gem in Brighton. If you enjoy being creative and cherish well being, give it a go. I had a lovely time being creative with Emily's guidance, while also visiting Brighton for the day."

These photos are from my third creative 1-2-1 studio session, with a mother-and-daughter duo who were visiting Brighton for the day. I really valued our time together, and seeing how the session unfolded for them.

I started offering 1-2-1 creative sessions for adults at my little studio by the sea because I wanted to create an alternative for people who find large groups overwhelming.

Or for anyone who would simply appreciate a more personal experience, either for themselves, or with a loved one.

My prompts are simple, the space is non-judgemental , and you get to choose what activities you'd like to try as we go.

If you'd like to book a creative session for yourself or someone else, send me a DM or email: [email protected]

Sessions start at £60, with availability on weekends and some evenings, no prior experience needed!

A day of creative health for me today!

I started my morning with The Hera Project at Robin Hood Health Foundation for their Third Friday creative health session, led by writer and teacher Imogen Lycett Green from Narrative Workshops CIC.

Through reading, listening and responding to a poem, the session offered a space to reflect on our experiences and share them with the group.

What struck me most was the kindness with which the group held each other’s stories. I left feeling lighter, with a sense that although our life experiences may be different, we share more in common than we often realise.

For my next stop, I headed to Museum of Croydon for this interactive exhibition, exploring what ‘Creative Health’ means, the evidence showing how it works, and how it's being practiced in Croydon.

The last day of this exhibition is tomorrow - if you're able to get there I highly recommend it.

Grayson Perry tapestries will be on display at the museum until September (another highlight of my day!).

Would you like to experience the benefits of creativity and mindfulness in a calm, welcoming space, with no artistic skill required?

I'm opening my art studio near Hove seafront for 1-to-1 and small group sessions.

These sessions aren't about being "good" at art. They focus on how art can be good for you.

Perhaps you find busy environments overwhelming sometimes, or you'd simply value space to try a creative activity at your own pace.

During each 2.5 hour session, we can focus on one activity or try a few, including:

🟦 Origami
✂️ Mindful collage
🌟 Vision boards
📖 Zines
🧘 Mini meditations
📔 Junk journaling
💌 Card making

I'll provide gentle guidance, creative prompts, and all materials. If you'd like, I can also begin and end the session with a short guided meditation to help you set an intention and reflect on your experience.

Session details:
• 1-to-1 sessions: £60
• Small groups of friends (2–8 people): group discounts available
• Plenty of breaks, tea and biscuits
• Evenings and weekends only

If you'd like to book a session with me, I'd love to hear from you. Feel free to send me a message via my website: www.femigami.com/contact

I can't wait to welcome you to my little studio by the sea for a creative pause.

I loved this team activity!

July was International Zine Month, so when I was asked to run a creative session for colleagues at Education Support I knew exactly what we should do.

The only prompt was: Tell me about an activity or hobby you enjoy outside of work.

After spending the year focusing on beneficiaries, this activity made space to reflect on what matters to us beyond work, get to know each other a little better, and celebrate the interests that make us who we are.

The finished zines are now on display in the staff kitchen, inviting little glimpses into the humans behind our day-to-day roles. They feature everything from hill walking and climbing, to wild garlic foraging, exploring stone circles, and plenty more.

The highlight for me?

Hearing from colleagues who don't usually think of themselves as creative, tell me they enjoyed the process of making, looking through each other's zines, and connecting with one another.

What a great reminder that creativity isn't about being "good" at art.

A bit about me:

Hello,

I'm Emily!

I'm a paper-based artist and trained mindfulness practitioner who believes you don't need to be "good" at art to benefit from it. In fact, growing research shows that creativity can play an important role in our health and wellbeing.

Alongside my creative practice, I work in communications for local and national charities focused on mental health in education, social prescribing, and creative health.

When I'm not in my studio, I enjoy sea swimming and reading - this book has been my favourite in 2026 'Art Cure - how the arts transforms our health' by Prof Daisy Fancourt. I highly recommend it!

You can get in touch to book a time that works for you to enjoy a creative pause via my website at: www.femigami.com/contact

My studio sessions are available on evenings & weekends only.

I can't wait to welcome you!

Important venue information: my studio is located on the third floor and there is no lift, sorry. If my studio is not accessible to you I am happy to discuss finding another suitable location for your session.

What happens when everyone starts with the same creative prompt?

In my Mindful Collage sessions, participants all begin with the same prompt - an invitation to slow down, observe their surroundings, and respond without the pressure to be perfect.

These collages were created in the Mind, Body & Zen area of Latitude Festival this weekend. Despite the shared starting point, isn't it amazing how every single one is unique?

Mindful Collage is an accessible creative wellbeing workshop that supports mindfulness, encourages connection, and helps people step away from screens for a while. It's ideal for groups and workplaces, and I also offer individual sessions for those who would appreciate a more one-on-one low-pressure experience.

Feel free to get in touch if you'd like to chat about booking a Mindful Collage session: [email protected]

And thanks The Zen Project for another year of Mind, Body, and Zen. It's such a beautiful part of the festival.💜

Mindful collage for adults tomorrow in Hove ✂️✨

Join me at my little studio by the sea at 2pm on Church Road.

This small session is designed to help you slow down, log off, and take time for yourself.

Using simple wellbeing prompts, we’ll focus on the process and benefits of collaging, rather than being “good” at art.

The session will begin and end with a short guided mindfulness meditation; a chance to de-stress, rest your mind, and enjoy a screen-free activity in a welcoming space.

All materials provided, along with herbal tea and biscuits.
