Art in the Pen is a leading art & crafts fair that showcases a wide range of mediums. Art in the Pen will run in Skipton in North Yorkshire on 13 & 14 August 2022. Pre-booking is essential.

Day 2 of Potfest in the Park is open and we are ready to go! Very lovely busy day yesterday and I totally forgot to post! Last night was the potters meal and I was delighted that my Flapping 1 ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest’ piece won the Polish Potters prize! Thanks to Adamina Turek from 2hungrybakers, London, England and the Polish potters for choosing it 🩷- I’m definitely going to enjoy the vodka 😁.
We’re here till 4.30 today and 10- 4.30 tomorrow. See Potfest website for all the details. I’m on stand 8- come and say hi 🩷

Final photo dump of our North American trip! Down through Vermont, on to Massachusetts before heading back to Manhattan.

Monteplier- a diner that felt like if you went to the restroom you might never be seen again. And a definite candidate for Rate my Plate 🙈

Celebrating the win in a fab dive bar- a dive bar for nice people apparently.
The Capitol building in Montpelier
Newbury Port- a beautiful hallmark type town where a baker/ journalist/ librarian solves crimes and is in a love hate relationship with the local police/sheriff/ detective
On to Boston and a hotel far too posh for us 2.
Harvard Art Gallery - a total surprise - stuffed full of fabulous art.
Plymouth and the Mayflower in a sea fret
Sports bar to watch England - fabulous locals - totally embraced and enjoying the footy.
Back to Manhattan for more art, food and drinks at O’Haras. On the same block as our hotel and one away from where the World Trade Centre stood. Look it up- it’s quite a story.

Fabulous trip, we met so many very lovely people along the way, saw many odd things in shop windows and got my fill of Art. NY- I fell in love with you in 1998 on my first visit (see the last pic with - how young we look! )- you never disappoint.

Part 2 of our North American road trip. Up through NY state, on to Vermont and over the border to Montreal
A good old fashioned American diner.
Stopping in tiny Peekskill, NY to watch the first England game in the one and only sports bar. Then bumping in to 6 Scottish fans who said they wanted to fight us (jokingly I think) then gave us massive hugs.

Turtle crossing.
A lift sign that made me laugh more than it should. Obviously the silver one didn’t work so they went for red and bold.
Saratoga Springs, NY
Burlington, VT where it rained more than it should.
Over the border to Montreal, Canada. An alarming alert that popped up on our phones. Lots of enjoying French food and eating cake!

Well what a surprise! Massive THANK YOU to Watergaw Ceramics and all the Scottish potters Potfest who awarded me the Scottish prize for my competition piece. So it’s gone a little Scottish today- and I’m looking forward to enjoying my prizes!

So here it is - the result of using icing bags to pipe clay- my .co.uk competition piece. The competition was to make a piece inspired by one of the top must read 100 Penguin Books - I picked One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest🪺. My lovely assistant helping with the interactive flapping ceramic 1 😁. I did discover that paper clay definitely clogs the piping nozzles a lot 🤦‍♀️
