Horncastle Hobby House waste collections I am afraid after 7 years of collecting crisp packets, pringle tubes, bread wrappers etc and sending to Terracycle to raise funds for LIVES and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance I have had to take the decision to retire from collecting.
WE SHALL NOT BE TAKING PLASTIC IN AFTER AUGUST 1ST,2026
Walkers and KP stopped paying for crisp packets and instead spent money on Beckham and Lineker to advertise their goods. Crisp packaging hasn’t changed.
Pringles have stopped their collections this month. Credit due to them they have made their tubes recyclable at the kerb.
Warburtons have advised they are stopping their collections this month. No doubt to pay Olivia Coleman to advertise crumpets.
Over the years we have raised £800 for charities. Charities that need our money more than ever. A total of 750kg of plastic waste has been sent from Horncastle for recycling rather than landfill. The onus is put on the public to recycle while the big food companies keep their profits up and do nothing to reduce the amount of plastic waste.
