I recently had the pleasure of attending a talk by textile artist Kaffe Fassett at Cowslip Workshops in Cornwall.
Kaffe spoke about his lifelong fascination with colour, pattern, travel, and the way inspiration can be found everywhere around us. Looking around the exhibition of quilts and textiles, it was easy to see how fearless use of colour can create such energy and joy.
As a mosaic artist, I often find inspiration beyond my own medium, and I came away full of ideas about colour combinations, pattern, repetition, and the importance of trusting your creative instincts.
A real highlight was having the opportunity to meet Kaffe and his partner Brandon Mably and have a couple of books signed.
Days like this remind me how valuable it is to step away from the studio occasionally and fill the creative well.

This Saturday's Recycled China Mosaic Workshop is a chance to spend a relaxing few hours creating your own unique mosaic from my huge collection of vintage and recycled china.
Choose from a range of shapes including cats, birds, fish and hearts, then learn how to cut and shape china safely, select suitable adhesives and create a mosaic that you'll be proud to take home.
Whether you're a complete beginner or have tried mosaic before, you'll be guided through the process step-by-step in my North Devon studio.
Half Day: 10am–1pm (£55) Full Day: 10am–4.30pm (£85)

A wonderful day teaching mosaic mirror making at RHS Rosemoor this weekend.
It was lovely to spend the day with such a creative group, learning how to cut glass, create designs and transform them with grout.
One of my favourite things about mosaic workshops is seeing how different everyone's finished piece becomes, even when starting with the same materials and project.
Thank you to everyone who joined me for a day of creativity, concentration, laughter and plenty of colourful glass! ✨

Inspired by the timeless beauty of roses during the lead-up to RHS Rosemoor’s Festival of Roses, this specialist workshop invites you to create a decorative mosaic mirror for outdoor display. Professional mosaic artist Adela Webb will guide participants to learn how to use hand tools to cut glass tiles and shape them into rose motifs. These will be carefully arranged onto a circular mirror base measuring 23cm in diameter. A thoughtfully selected range of coloured glass mosaic tiles will be provided, enabling colour choices.
