Holmfirth Artweek is a local event with a national reputation. The majority of the exhibitors are from this area but large numbers of visitors come from all over the country to view and to buy. It is astounding how much artistic talent there is locally and it is this that makes the event such a success every year.

If we haven't stimulated you enough with the fabulous creatives exhibiting this week, for the final day we feature Claire Curran Art.

Claire's body of work ranges from formal monochrome pencil portraits to vividly colourful landscapes. Claire also loves creating graphic novel art/fandom pieces.

Inspired by many subjects and media, Claire offers an eclectic collection, which is on display at The Crossroads Centre until 1 pm on Saturday 12th July.2025.

Mark hadn't drawn since his late teens, when, during lockdown, he rekindled his love of art. His work is predominantly fine-line ink, and his subject matter is usually birds and animals.

This is Mark's first time exhibiting any of his artwork, although he has produced commission work.

For Meltham Fringe, Mark's work will be on display in The Crossroads Centre.

Catherine O'Sullivan is a glass artist and metalsmith, based in Holmfirth, who draws inspiration from nature and the Yorkshire countryside that surrounds her Pickle Pot studio.

Each item is carefully handcrafted by Catherine, who is also a professional artist and educator in the field.

Olivia Hemingway's intimate and exquisitely framed portraits have been exhibited worldwide. Her work often has a strong narrative and focuses on people's lives in everyday surroundings.

Olivia's portfolio includes Aardman Animations, BBC, Tate, National Portrait Gallery, the United Nations, Warner Bros, Flight of the Conchords, Massive Attack and Sir Quentin Blake.
