This patchwork of colour reminds me of the quilt on my bed that my Granny made for me year ago.... These are inks made from the last few leaves gathered from my neighbours smoke bush..... I did ask permission first...honestly!! It’s the leaf that keeps on giving..... do you have a favourite way of using it ? I’ve dipped in copper,alum,iron, homemade soda ash and citric acid.

Delivered our individual Dye Garden Packs to endowed first school families who are taking part in the .
This is a project exploring various techniques and processes involved with natural dyeing and how they can be applied to textile art and runs through to June 2021.
We are looking forward to working with the children at Thurstonland and various other communities across Kirklees. It feels positive to be help families be creative and connect with nature during this strange time.
If you have any processes you would like to learn about in a workshop or that you think children or others may enjoy, then we would love to hear from you.

A big thank you to all those who helped put these Dye Garden Packs together, particularly Jean -crafts.co.uk who has been so helpful.

Miniature books and nautical maps are just some of the activities in our lovely activity packs we are sending out to disadvantaged children across Kirklees. We are starting work on the next pack 350 packs.....watch this space !!
