The Flos p***a ceramic mural has now been installed! 🌷 It is on Herring lane, at the corner of Double street for the public to see. Over the last week we have been installing the panels, then grouting in between and cleaning the thousands of tulips and pieces! Thank you to Jane Kay for helping with the grouting and the creation of the mosaic sky, Jamie and his team for the installation.

The mural was created by running workshops for local school children, community groups and members of the local public. Each person handcrafted their own tulips from clay, with their own design, making each one unique. We hope all the participants will be able to go and see their finished tulips in the design! 🌷

The project was made possible thanks to Arts Council England's grant to South Holland District Council and Transported for their planning, organising workshops and help.

The Flos p***a ceramic mural is being exhibited at Spalding this weekend. We have fixed it onto aluminum sheet panels which will then be assembled together for the display.

Today is our last pottery workshop working with the Latvian community association in Peterborough. We have really enjoyed getting to know you all and here's a selection of the lovely items you have all created over the last year!

We've really been busy working away on the Flos p***a mural over the last few months. We have handmade hundreds of different coloured tiles and pieces. These have been cut and shaped and have now been put together to create a mosaic of the landscape, sky and fill in between the hundreds of tulips, which were made by the public in schools and community workshops. Many thanks to Jane Kay for all your time and help and coming up with the idea for the sky which has been a work in progress! It is so big we can't fit it all in the workshop at once! So we are having to work on sections at a time, which will then all be joined together when it is installed to create the final image of the tulips fields.

Many thanks to Greenfield Pottery for all their help with our beautiful new peacock! This gorgeous art piece now welcomes everyone to our school and fits perfectly with our new bird themed class names. Every child has helped to create this with Mr Whiting and Greenfield Pottery during our Arts Festival - well done everyone!

Following the brilliant run of school workshops, we are now inviting the general public to join in with the Flos P***a project. If you would like to take part in a free ceramics workshop, we will be in Spalding market place on Saturday 16th and 30th September. To ensure all participants receive a good amount of attention, we will be doing one-hour slots with small groups at a time. To book a slot, please email us at [email protected].

Today we were at Holbeach St Mark's C of E school running a workshop for the year 2 and 3 children. They have been learning about Greek and Roman history and so this theme was used to create pottery inspired by the ancient pots.
They did so well, fantastic work! love the octopus's!
They are now drying and will then be fired and will become terracotta, black and white colour.

It's been a busy couple of months! Thank you to all the pupils from the schools that have taken part so far in the Flos p***a project. The tulips and pieces are all at different stages of being finished and there's many more workshop's to be planned and lots more to make yet!
