Broxbourne Theatre Company This is the official Broxbourne Theatre Company page. Broxbourne Theatre Company presents two shows each year at Broxbourne Civic Theatre in Hoddesdon.

Usually these are a pantomime soon after Christmas and a musical in May. Our first show back after the pandemic was The Sound of music in May 22 and was very well received. We are now well into rehearsals for Sleeping Beauty, our annual pantomime. All shows are presented to the best possible standard, using top quality scenery and costumes, as the photo album proves. roxbourne for more than 30 years, but the history goes back to 1943 when revues, pantomimes and musicals were presented in Enfield under the former name of ETCEA. Broxbourne Theatre Company is affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association and have won NODA's Best Local Pantomime award 6 times and best production 3 times since the award was introduced in 2007. New members are always welcome (onstage or backstage). As one of the Lea Valley's leading amateur theatre companies, we constantly need new members aged 16 or over to maintain our standards for the future. We start work on the Pantomime in September 2022 and will be particularly looking for new men -- though new ladies are welcome too. As a member you would be able to audition for both principals and chorus parts. We always need people to help backstage or in the foyer and auditorium during our performances in January and May each year, and to help publicise the shows throughout the year, so one way or another there should be a place for you. Join us now and be part of the team, or just come along to a performance and see us from the auditorium! We also have a Young Set which meets on Wednesday evenings and has separate activities for those aged 8 to 15.

✨ *JUNIOR ENSEMBLE - PANTO AUDITION INFO* ✨
We're looking forward to finding our Junior Ensemble for our upcoming pantomime, Cinderella! 🏰

There will be an information evening on Friday 18th September at 7pm for junior auditionees and their parents - this is so you can hear from the creative team and sign up to audition. Please bring a photo of each auditionee with you to attach to the audition form - this helps us to remember who everyone is during casting discussions on audition day.

Anyone auditioning for the Junior Ensemble must be aged between 9 - 15 years old. We are now looking to cast children that span a range of heights. Anyone aged 16+ must audition for the Adult Ensemble.

Please note that there is a £10 audition fee which must be paid before the auditions on Sunday 20th September at 12pm.

The Junior Ensemble will join the Adult Ensemble in most ensemble scenes and numbers to provide a family look. We are also looking to cast a young performer, ideally under the height of 5ft, to play the principal role of 'Mouse'. This is a silent role with no dialogue, so the performer must be able to act well through movement and also have lots of energy. Mouse won't be in every ensemble number but will get lots of star moments in various scenes throughout the show. Please note on your audition form if you'd like to be considered for this role.

NOTE FOR JUNIOR ENSEMBLE: There will also be a meeting on Friday 18th September at 7pm (ending at around 7:40pm) for parents and children wanting to audition for our junior ensemble. This is so we can give out information about the show, answer any questions, and let anyone who wants to audition sign up for audition day. Auditionees for junior ensemble must be between the ages of 9 and 15. We have now decided to cast a range of ages, so if you are older and taller, please do still come along!

We're delighted to announce that our musical for 2027 will be... The Wizard of Oz! 👧🏻🌈👠🌄🦁🧙🏻‍♀️

We're also moving our show week from May to July, with performances from Wednesday 7th to Saturday 10th July 2027.

Gather your team of (up to) 8 people and get revising your knowledge of random facts, films, and songs (and yes, there will probably be a musical theatre round! 🎭)

Tickets are £10 per person. We are no longer arranging takeaway food so please bring your own food and snacks. If you're coming on your own or don't have a table of eight, you can join up with others on the night. Non-members welcome! 😊

MEMBERS AND FRIENDS! Please save the date for our Summer Quiz Night on Friday 26th June at Bollescroft! 🎉😎☀️✍️🏻🎧

We're still finalising details but all tickets will include a hot takeaway dinner. Please bring anything you want to drink or snack on. Non-members are welcome.

We're excited to announce that our next show will be...
CINDERELLA! A traditional family pantomime ✨💕🏰🐭👸🏻

The get-together and audition rehearsals will be on Monday 14th and Friday 18th September at 7:45pm for adults. (Time for junior ensemble is TBC but it will be on one of the above dates.)

Auditions will be held on Sunday 20th September 2026 at 12pm for junior ensemble and 2pm for adults.

Rehearsals will be on Monday and Friday nights from 7:45pm to 10pm with an earlier finish for the kids. All of the above will take place in our rehearsal space, Bollescroft.

The show will be performed at The Spotlight in Hoddesdon from January 6th - 10th 2027, with matinee performances on the Saturday and Sunday.

To audition for the adult company you must be aged 16 or over. Our junior ensemble must be aged between 9-15 and ideally be under 5ft tall.
