Hitchin Beer & Cider Festival

Hitchin Beer & Cider Festival Hitchin Beer & Cider Festival is run each June by North Herts branch of CAMRA & Hitchin Rugby Club. The festival takes place at Hitchin Rugby Club.

The Hitchin Beer and Cider Festival is run by the North Herts branch of the Campaign for Real Ale, Hitchin Round Table, and Hitchin Rugby Football Club. The next festival is planned for June, 2023, dates to be confirmed, on a Thursday evening, Friday afternoon and evening, and Saturday afternoon and evening. The festival is run entirely by volunteers from the three supporting organisations, and is sponsored by local businesses.

Free entry from 6pm tonight. The final evening of the Hitchin Beer & Cider Festival 2026 is on us.

Come and join us for the last few hours. There is no charge to get in from 6pm; you simply leave a small deposit for your festival glass, refunded in full when you hand it back at the end of the night. Around 200 real ales, ciders, perries and meads are waiting at the bar, and the marquee is warm, dry and ready for one last good evening.

We close at 10pm. Whether you are rounding off the weekend or fancy a swift one on the way home, you are very welcome. See you in there.

We were delighted to welcome Hitchin's MP Alistair Strathern to the Hitchin Beer & Cider Festival 2026 yesterday.

Alistair took the time to visit the festival and stopped by to meet the team from Feed Up Warm Up, the Hitchin-based charity we are proud to support. Feed Up Warm Up do vital work in our community and having their stand at the festival gives them a chance to connect with local people and raise awareness of what they do. It was great to see Alistair showing his support for both the festival and the charity.

What a day yesterday was, thank you to everyone who joined us for day two of the Hitchin Beer & Cider Festival 2026.

Today is our last day and we want to see as many of you as possible. Doors open at 12pm and we close at 10pm, so there is a full day to enjoy everything the festival has to offer. Do not let the weather put you off, the marquee is large, covered and there is plenty of room inside for everyone to be comfortable and dry. The selection of real ales, ciders, perries and meads is still going strong, so come and make the most of what is left.

We open at 12pm today. Last orders at 10pm.

Day two of the Hitchin Beer & Cider Festival 2026 and the doors open at midday.

Yesterday was a brilliant start, thank you to everyone who came through the gates on Thursday evening and made it such a great opening session. The bar is stocked, the team is ready and there is plenty of the good stuff still to enjoy. Whether you are coming back for more or joining us for the first time today, we look forward to seeing you.

Doors open at 12pm today, closing at 11pm.

We know it has not been the most summery of starts to June in Hitchin, but do not let that put you off. The festival marquee is large, fully covered and has plenty of space to keep everyone comfortable and dry. Whatever the sky is doing outside, inside it is warm, welcoming and there are around 200 real ales, ciders, perries and meads waiting for you.

Last night our volunteers gathered for the final briefing before the Hitchin Beer & Cider Festival 2026 opens its doors this evening.

Every person in this room is giving their time freely to make this festival happen, from running the bars and checking in casks, to welcoming guests and keeping everything ticking over across three days. Without them there is no festival. We are grateful to every single one of them.
