FoolishPeople

FoolishPeople We create dreamlike worlds for you to inhabit, explore and investigate. Over a number of years, we have developed a unique practice, Theatre of Manifestation.

We combine mythology, folklore, shamanism, drama therapy, storyteller and open source collaboration in the creation of this work. Each piece takes form by merging text, performance, sound, art, light and the building itself to create a unique, dreamlike world that living characters inhabit.

"The story itself was based on a writer called Victor, apparently searching for survivors of a theatre fire, who gets drawn to a remote settlement where he finds his former friends living under the power of an aristocratic noblewoman. He draws up a pact with her that they will rebuild the theatre together, but only while making bloody sacrifices along the way."

Back in 2013, filmmakers put on showings of a movie in a local Portsmouth theatre, where attendees had to first drink an unknown substance.

Thrill Screen on Strange Factories

“Thank you Thrill Screen. What a cool review of Strange Factories.

“Perhaps one of the most significant achievements of Strange Factories is its ability to inject layered themes, exploring the nature of creation, the power of myths, and the cyclical trap of obsession. These undercurrents breathe dimension into the story, allowing the film to resonate on a level deeper than typical genre fare, and elevating its intellectual intrigue.

The audience most attuned to Strange Factories would be those who delight in the abstract and conceptual, horror aficionados seeking a less conventional narrative, and viewers with an appreciation for the avant-garde aspects of theater and cinema.

In comparison to other works, Strange Factories may evoke echoes of the narrative complexity found in films like Eraserhead or the strange atmospheric qualities of Don’t Look Now, though it carves its own niche within the tableau of horror.”

Dive into 'Strange Factories,' an avant-garde film blending horror with a surreal, eerie atmosphere for a cerebral, chilling experience.

“During the most critical moments of my creative life, I have always found it difficult to discuss what is occurring. The simple fact is that I don’t like the idea of doing a disservice to a pivotal moment. There is always a need to feed the internet machine, to keep producing content, even when the material and moments should be fully savoured to enable the storytelling process.”

“The journey of creating ACT ONE of "Transmigration." What began as a vivid dream in my writer's journal, capturing a soul at the brink of departure, evolved into a profound exploration of creativity, death, and the human spirit.”
