Having had another customer come in to enquire about framing prints on canvas this morning, I thought I'd offer up some wisdom from a framer's perspective!
Many people buy canvas prints and are misled by images showing them stretched on to frames making them think that is what they are buying. Unless they are specifically sold as box canvas prints the chances are they will just arrive as loose canvas prints like the images here. They won't be the bargain that they seem (Chinese websites I'm looking at you!) because you won't get something you can actually hang on the wall.
If you have a photo printed on canvas yourself, the print will need to have a border around it, otherwise you will lose a lot of the image in the stretching process as it needs to be wrapped around the frame. With no border (second image) then a frame is your only practical option, which may not be the look you wanted.
Have a think about what you want before you buy - and make sure you read the details carefully to know what you will receive.
Hope this helps! Please comment if you have any questions.
