On my way to Art College in 1976, this was one of a handful of great mags I picked up from the newsagent that morning. I had a fifteen minute train journey from Croydon to Wimbledon and had time to speed read a few - probably Omega the Unknown, Killraven, Black panther, Deathlok and this fabulous mag by Doug Moench and Paul Gulacy - Master of Kung Fu #38!

I'd only read Englehart and Starlin's excellent Marvel Feature #16 and was totally unprepared for Moench and Gulacy as they began to, indeed - 'Bust Comics Wide Open!'

Cinematic, stylish, elegant, atmospheric, thought-provoking, sexy! Sterankoesque! I will scan and post the whole mag - ads included - soon. But for now enjoy this beautiful splash. A big thank you to Doug, Paul, the great Dan Adkins, Annette Kawecki, Petra Goldberg and Marv Wolfman!
