Some recent finished pieces as well as some works in progress from adult watercolour classes in Highcliffe… with a special highlight at the end from a student who completed the introduction to painting project today and finished their tulip painting which is the first proper painting that students embark on! It shows a real grasp of colour, light and shade as well as texture! Can you spot the wonderful shadows on the table cast by the paper, ribbon and tulips? Just makes it! Lovely work everyone 👏🏻🎨

Next instalment from the teen courses this half term… I always encourage the students to take the theme and techniques and work with it if they want to, but to personalise it and change it however they fancy to let their imagination take over! Here are a few different outcomes and some in progress shots. I
I have somehow managed to not get a photo of some finished pieces - so if you can’t see yours here it’s just because I don’t have a photo of your work 😞 will have to make sure that doesn’t happen next half term. Hope you’re enjoying your break!

Please take a moment to give claps and be completely in awe of my amazing teen students!! (Aged 12-15 🤗) Their talent and design ideas never cease to amaze me 👏🏻

Inspired by the stippling art of Rotislaw Tsarenko they learned how to tonally shade using black fine liner pens to create the dove. We mashed this with the hippy psychedelic art of the 1960s and 1970s and looked at the design of the ‘ban the bomb’ symbol! The idea was to spread peace, love and hope from the start of the New Year! Seems fitting to share the first bunch on Valentine’s Day ❤️

Final selection of the teen paintings from the most recent half term course. Wintery birch tree landscapes, completely designed from scratch and then painted of course in just 6 lessons!
Lots of different techniques, but as always, I love how each one is unique to the artist that created it! Well done and see you in the new year! 👏🏻✨
