Over 90 people attended Monday's lecture on The artistic Alcott family given by Elizabeth Merry. The lecture covered the family background of the American Alcott sisters and how two became famous as an author (writing Little Women) and an artist.
This lecture was rated Excellent by the majority of our members.

Looking forward to the next series of lectures, starting in October with 'Banksy-Fraud or Genius'

Another excellent lecture this morning on The Met in New York, given by Andrew Hopkins.
He told us about the art works and how they were acquired with glorious images-fascinating. It's not just the venue for a 'posh frock' show.

Who knew carvings were such a feature of Eton College. We recognised some names amongst the many carvings.

We had a great trip to Eton College near the end of March. We saw paintings bequeathed by Richard Amis, a tour of the chapel and a talk about the history of the college. Great day had by all!

Great lecture by Monica Bohm-Duchen! So thought-provoking and interesting. One member said that listening, it made him feel angry, for the plight of refugees. Monica definitely and rightly challenged us to think about refugees and their relationship with art.
