The first meeting of the Hickling Community Players has now taken place as preparations begin for our 2026 pantomime. The production will be performed at Hickling Barn and will help raise funds to support the barn's ongoing upkeep, maintenance, and day-to-day running costs.

There was plenty of enthusiasm and excitement at the meeting, and plans are already underway to make the 2026 pantomime a memorable community event. As well as bringing local people together through entertainment and creativity, the production aims to generate much-needed funds to help secure the future of Hickling Barn as a valued community venue.

To help make this event a success, we are seeking support from individuals, local businesses, and organisations. We would be delighted to hear from anyone willing to provide sponsorship, make a donation, provide prizes, assist with grant funding opportunities, or volunteer their time. We are also looking for volunteers to bake cakes for fundraising events.

Every contribution, large or small, will make a real difference and help ensure both the success of the pantomime and the continued running of Hickling Barn.

If you would like to offer support, sponsorship, donations, grant assistance, or volunteer help, please contact:
Mandy Alden - [email protected] or Jezz Coggins - [email protected]
Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Hickling Village Show 19th July - exciting new opportunity for
local businesses and crafters

At this years show we are offering our local crafting businesses a great new opportunity by making an exciting twist to our professionals class. If you live in the village and make and sell crafts we would like to invite you to have a display table where your wares can be sold at the show. Items can be bought during the show and collected at the end of the afternoon. The table will be judged in the Professional class so you might just get a prize too! We have a limited number of spaces available that must be booked strictly in advance. Having a table is free, all we ask is a small donation for any items sold. For more information please email [email protected]

Thank You to Our Wonderful Volunteers
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who gave their time and energy across the two recent maintenance weekends at Hickling Barn. Your hard work, enthusiasm, and community spirit have made a real and visible difference to the Barn and the grounds.

From small fixes to bigger jobs, every contribution helped us move forward and keep this important village space looking its best. We are incredibly grateful for the support shown by so many residents.

Hickling Barn thrives because of the people who care about it — and over those two weekends were a brilliant reminder of what we can achieve together.

Thank you once again to all who rolled up their sleeves and got involved.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who came out for the maintenance weekend last week. Your time, energy, and hard work made a real difference, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything you helped us accomplish.

That said, there’s still plenty left to do, and we’d love to keep the momentum going. We’re organising another volunteer weekend on 16–17 May and would really appreciate your support if you’re able to join us.

Every pair of hands helps, whether you can spare a few hours or the whole weekend.

Please comment below or email [email protected]
to let us know if you are able to help.

⛺️ Campers on the Playing Field ⛺️

Please be aware that we have people camping on the playing field this weekend.
They do have permission and are all competitors in the Norfolk Stand Up Paddleboard race competition on Saturday.
There will also be parking for the event, with both camping and parking directly raising funds for the Barn.
People will be arriving from late afternoon on Friday and will be clear of the site on Sunday morning.
Camping will be between the Play Area and Croquet Court and campers have access to the football changing rooms for showers and toilets, but these are not open to the public.
The Play Area and the rest of the field are open as usual.
The organiser of the event is Martin Rendle who can be contacted on 07968 083334 if you have any concerns.
