100 YEARS OF AN ICON: All of our ‘Last Call’ films were based on a series of site-responsive poems by Jean Atkin. They were inspired by people’s experiences and stories of the red British telephone box.

In the final short, ‘The Dog Box’, a woman makes a surprising new friend. It was filmed in the phone box on King Street, a short distance from Hereford Cathedral.

The Woman was played by Kate Pothecary and Belle was played by Dash.

The ‘Last Call’ films were commissioned by The Courtyard and filmed in partnership with The Task at Hand and Lisle Turner of Open Sky. You can watch them on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyNsqtHuIGFQWCu_sSvlsFVFIHsaibsG2

100 YEARS OF AN ICON: The penultimate of our ‘Last Call’ short films is ‘Margaret And Tony Can’t Come To The Phone Right Now’. In this poignant film, an elderly man dials the same number unsuccessfully every day.

The red phone box sits in the heart of Pembridge, alongside the quintessential village shop, pub and post-box.

‘Margaret And Tony Can’t Come To The Phone Right Now’ features Chris Morgan and Kara Lyons.
