We are looking forward to welcoming the Arts professionals of Herefordshire to our final in person event this Friday evening ❤

We will be ending with a session that we think sums up what the Ford Collective is all about - bringing Artists from all different specialisms, from costume designers to musicians, dancers to visual artists together to form new connections & working relationships.

Friday's session will be led by the wonderful Cara Tivey. Classically trained, Cara has worked and toured the world with Everything But The Girl, Billy Bragg, Blur, The Lilac Time and most recently dub stepper Geode and drum and bass artist Amoss.

In this session Cara will build a creative, safe and playful environment for artists from all genres to play, collaborate and create, leading to an improvised informal performance of the work.

If you are a musician, MC, spoken word artist, poet, singer or DJ. Mover, shaker, dancer, acrobat or circus artist, then we need you. Come and play together. See what can be created when we work together, try something new, bringing together Herefordshire’s most creative. Not forgetting those who paint, draw, capture or shoot. Why not come along and record the evening in charcoal, on film or in print!

Borderlines Film Festival is seeking a Festival Coordinator/ Administration Assistant to join the Festival team to deliver the next edition of the film festival in March 2023.

SOME SAD NEWS ABOUT THE FORD COLLECTIVE
It is with great sadness that we have to let you know that The Ford Collective is going to have to close and that Friday 2nd December will be our last Hurrah 😢

As you may have heard 2Faced Dance Company has recently heard the devastating news that they have been unfunded by ACE for the period 2023-2026. The reason given is that the company is not as representative of contemporary England as other companies in the Midlands.

The Ford Collective was instigated by Tamsin Fitzgerald, Artistic Director of 2FD during the pandemic. Along with Estelle Van Warmelo, Claire Coache and Juliet Gallagher the Ford Collective aimed to help support artists, sign post opportunities and hold events for any artist regardless of genre. Since the pandemic 2Faced Dance has used its own NPO funding to support the Ford Collective to operate.

Unfortunately, 2Faced Dance now has to seriously consider it’s future and its activities and will have to stop all extra programmes it operates. We are gutted as we truly believed in the role that the FC has made and we have met so many new talented friends along the way.

If another company or individual would like to pick up the Ford Collective then please do let us know. If not, we will see you on the 2nd of December for our last ever event being hosted by the wonderful Cara Tivey.

🔴 JOB OPPORTUNITY - Front of House Manager, Ludlow Assembly rooms

"Ludlow Assembly Rooms is a small and dynamic Mixed Arts and Community Centre serving the population of Ludlow and surrounding area. We are looking for a Front of house Supervisor who will ensure the smooth running of the Assembly Rooms during performances and events. The role requires strong leadership, excellent decision making and organisational skills, and a high commitment to first class customer service."

Key responsibilities:

Manage and deliver Front of House for live and streamed events held at the Assembly Rooms, ensuring the comfort, enjoyment and safety of all audience members, visitors and volunteers
Ensure effective communication between visiting artists, the technical team and volunteers on event days.
To liaise with the relevant staff in the run up to events to ensure that everything is in place for performances and events, including set ups and riders.
To ensure appropriate volunteer auditorium and bar steward levels are in place for each event.
To manage the Assembly Rooms bars.
To devise and create effective bar promotions
To deal with any complaints relating to Front of House and work with both the box office and the senior management team to find solutions to issues.
To understand and implement the correct security, emergency and evacuation procedures when required.

Salary: £24,000 (pro rata)

Hours of work: 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week, variable each week). Mostly evenings and weekends for key live events, but worked flexibly so can include some daytime office hours for admin.

🔴 MADAME F AWARD 2023
Q***r Britain has partnered with wine brand Madame F for their second year of the The Madame F Q***r Britain Art Award. The theme is Q***r Creativity, inspired by illustrator Justin Kemp, who designed the Susy the Frog image featured on the Madame F wine label.

Entries can be illustrations, paintings, drawings and photographs that celebrate the theme of Q***r Creativity. There are three cash prizes and winning entrants will be exhibited by Q***r Britain. Winning images will also help support Q***r Britain, the national LGBTQ+ museum for all, by featuring on official QB merchandise. Entries close on 1 January 2023 and winners will be announced early Spring.
