I’d originally hoped to launch the shop a little earlier, but I’m currently taking a short break that was booked quite a while ago, so everything is paused until I return.

Everything is now live on my website and ready to officially launch on 2nd April at 7pm

I did notice there are a few duplicate listings (sorry about that!). That’s what happens when you’re rushing to get everything ready?! I’ll get those sorted as soon as I’m back.

Hope you're all staying cool 🔥

Just finished uploading these small Yunomi cups to the website. They’re simple, handleless cups that work beautifully for tea. I actually have one myself and use it for a small afternoon coffee so you can use them for whatever you like.

There are no rules. On the website, you’ll find them under the Yunomi / Espresso section.

I’m nearly finished uploading everything now, so feel free to have a look around. The purchasing options will be activated on Thursday 2nd July at 7:00pm.

Slight change of plan!

I've decided to do a vase-only online shop launch this Thursday, 18th June at 7pm.

My main shop launch is still happening on 2nd July, but with a lot of work to get through and plenty going on over the next couple of weeks (including my 50th 🍻🎉), I've realised it'll be much kinder to both myself and my sanity to split things up a little.

So, this Thursday's launch will be all about vases, from small bud vases to larger statement pieces designed for bigger bouquets. There will still be some vases available in July, but this week's shop update is dedicated entirely to them.

Sorry that this is all a bit last minute. I'll be sending out my newsletter tomorrow at 4pm with more details about what to expect over the next few weeks and the upcoming July launch.

Right... I'd better get back to photographing everything! 📸

Today was spent glazing and packing the kiln.

It feels like I'm reaching the end of what has been a busy few weeks in the studio, and at this stage there isn't much room for mistakes. Every glaze is carefully checked and adjusted, with specific gravity measured to make sure I'm getting the finish I'm after.

The day itself is slow and methodical. Piece by piece, everything is glazed, loaded, and prepared for firing.
The shino glazed pieces will now sit for a few days before I begin a 12-hour gas reduction firing. I've found that a longer, slower firing tends to produce the best results.

A quick reminder that my online shop goes live on 2 July at 7pm.

Tomorrow's newsletter will include a password that gives subscribers early browsing access while I spend next week uploading all of the available work to the shop.

I've been home alone this week, juggling the garden, the dogs, and making another series of mugs for my online shop, which goes live on July 2nd.

I've also finally started a little side project. For a while now I've been wanting to develop some more personal work, and I'm looking forward to sharing it once this shop update is over. Let's just say I've been feeling the pull back towards more sculptural, hand-built pieces...

I hope you've all had a good week. My partner returns home today, so I'll be spending the day hoovering and tidying up a little, as I may have let things slide while I've been busy!

80ml reduction fired Espresso Cup from the last 🔥

I know espresso cups aren’t quite as popular as standard mugs here in the UK, but they do seem to be gathering momentum. It may take us a while to catch up with the Italians when it comes to espresso culture.

So who are the biggest coffee consumers? Apparently the Nordic countries, especially Finland, followed by Norway and Sweden?

There will be around 15 espresso cups available in my next online shop launch, each one individually made and completely unique, but this one happens to be my favourite. . ☕️

The first batch of vases, teapots, mugs and cups is now ready to be photographed and uploaded to my website shop.

Because every piece is individually made, each one needs to be photographed separately, which takes quite a bit of time. Because I shoot with natural light I also try to wait for an overcast day, as direct sunlight creates harsh reflections that can be difficult to manage. Although I use a polarising filter, it can only do so much when it comes to reducing glare.

Once everything has been uploaded, I'll be sending out my newsletter along with a password so you can start browsing the shop before it officially opens.

I'll also be throwing more work next week. I've had a few new ideas over the weekend that I'm excited to test out, so it should be an interesting few days in the studio. Then I'll be doing one final firing towards the end of the month, followed by a big push to get everything photographed and uploaded in time for the launch on ***July 2nd at 7pm🔥***
