Join us for the readings and auditions for The Henley Players Autumn production “GASLIGHT” written by Patrick Hamilton and directed by Mark Wilkin

Jack Manningham is slowly, deliberately driving his wife, Bella, insane. Bella Manningham is afraid that she is losing her mind, just as her mother did before her. Her own home seems to have taken on a malevolent presence, with valuable items going missing and objects being moved. Are the servants to blame, with some kind of vendetta against her? Then one evening, when her husband Jack has gone out, a stranger appears with a story to tell, and tensions build as secrets start to unravel.

This classic psychological thriller has been twice adapted as a movie and gave us the noun gaslighting.

Step into a world where every shadow whispers and every flicker of the gaslight hides a secret. Patrick Hamilton’s gripping play tells a chilling tale of manipulation, doubt, and the slow unravelling of a woman’s reality.

Readings: 2nd June (19.30) & 4th June (20.00) at Harpsden Hall, all welcome

Auditions: 9th June (19.30) & 11th June (20.00) at Harpsden Hall

We are delighted to announce that Tom Rawlinson is the winner of the NODA London District, Charles Sumner Award for Best Male Character in a Play for his performance as Colin in Absent Friends (March 2025).

It was Tom’s first show with us and blimey - he blew us away. His portrayal of the relentlessly cheerful Colin, who remained blissfully immune while everything around him fell apart, brought enormous warmth, laughter and delight to our audiences.

Many congratulations to Tom for this thoroughly deserved accolade. 🎊🏆🎭 (https://www.noda.org.uk/regions/london/noda-london-district-winners-list-2026)

A month to go - do come and see us at the wonderful The Kenton Theatre in March.

“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”

This March, the Henley Players invite audiences to step into the elegant world of Regency England with a vibrant new production of Pride & Prejudice. Adapted by John Goodman from Jane Austen’s timeless novel, this theatrical retelling brings wit, romance, and social satire to the stage in a production brimming with charm.

Follow the spirited Elizabeth Bennet as she matches wits with the proud Mr Darcy, navigating the expectations of family, fortune, and propriety. With its sharp dialogue, colourful characters, and enduring themes of love and self-discovery, Pride & Prejudice remains as captivating today as when it was first penned.
