Father’s Day is coming up this Sunday 21st June and for Dads who love books, ideas and interesting conversations, a Henley Literary Festival Friends Membership is a great shout! 📚

Members enjoy priority booking for more than 140 events, giving them the best chance of securing tickets to some of our most popular speakers before general sale opens on 13 July.

This year’s programme includes Nigella ’s Festival debut, Oscar nominated novelist Maggie O'Farrell , Tonyadamsofficial reflecting on 30 years since captaining England at Euro ‘96, the hosts of The Good, The Bad & The Rugby and much more besides. From bestselling authors and historians to politicians, sports stars and comedians, there’s something for every curious mind.

One of the things we love most about the Henley Literary Festival is seeing children meet the authors and illustrators behind the books they treasure.

That’s why we’re particularly excited to be partnering with Bookmark Reading Charity Charity this year. Their work helps children discover a love of reading through one-to-one volunteer support online and in schools across the country. To date, volunteers have delivered more than 200,000 reading sessions to children who were at risk of falling behind. In this National Year of Reading, we’re delighted to support such a brilliant organisation.

Our Schools’ Programme shares that same goal, giving thousands of children the chance to engage with authors and illustrators, both in person and through our FREE livestream events for schools across the UK.

Our biggest Schools’ Programme yet features seven brilliant authors for children aged 3 to 12:

📣 This year’s Festival coincides with party political conference season, so we’re excited to welcome Labour veteran Baroness Margaret Hodge to our stage, to look back on her career and the battles she has fought.

Also joining us this autumn for our 20th edition are Lucy Worsley, Elif Shafak, Sir Michael and Lady Clare Morpurgo, Lucian Msamati, Dame Mary Berry, Rachel Parris, Liz Pichon, Pippa Goodhart and Nick Sharratt.

And we’re delighted to welcome The Good, The Bad & The Rugby live with Mike Tindall, James Haskell and Alex Payne, alongside the return of our ever-popular Crime & Wine event featuring Harriet Tyce, Chris Chibnall and Louise Candlish.
