Firstly some great news!
We have been planning a short series of weekly shows to mark the 35th anniversary of us moving from the Bull to the Village Club (see the ‘On to 2026...’ information below). However to start this series we now have a very special show on Thursday 5 February which we are calling:
‘An evening with Maddy Prior and Peter Knight’
As legends of British folk music, Maddy Prior and Peter Knight require absolutely no introduction and to list their achievements would fill an entire website.
This will be a memorable night when Maddy and Peter will revisit some special moments from their shared history with Steeleye Span, not only in music, but also in words, answering questions from you, the audience.
The only word to describe this is "unmissable"!

Just recently we have been finding that some ISP’s have been rejecting our newsletter because of incorrectly being identified as spam and so we have had to send those individually which we’re sure you realise is quite time consuming! Click on our address at the top of the email and add it to your Contacts/Address Book.
This will ensure that you should keep receiving our email updates.

Just two shows now before the New Year break and then we are back in February with a series of weekly concerts to celebrate 35 years at the Village Club after we moved across the road from the Bull.
So our next show is Monday 24 November at 7.30 pm we have the legends that are Phil Beer & Paul Downes AKA Downes & Beer – Our patron Phil Beer from Show of Hands is back again after appearing with Feast of Fiddles Originals earlier this month. This time he is with his original duo partner – Paul Downes. First appearing as Downes & Beer at Nettlebed in the late 70’s and reforming for a part in our 50th anniversary show, we thought that they should have another evening for themselves. Their last album was actually ‘Live at Nettlebed’. To quote Phil “This is a set of recordings from a reunion gig which took place at the Nettlebed Village Club one dark and stormy Monday night at the beginning of 2007. There was a capacity crowd, a well stocked bar of local ales, and a good time was had by all”.

There are still a few tickets left for the last gig of 2025 on Monday 15 December at 7.30 pm. This is the St. Agnes Fountain Christmas Show with Chris While, Julie Matthews & Chris Leslie.
Affectionately known as 'The Aggies', they have played at Nettlebed every year since 2001 and Chris While, Julie Matthews and Chris Leslie (from Fairport Convention) are treading the tinsel boards once more, bringing Christmas to all!

On to 2026 ...
January 2026 marks 35 years since we moved from The Bull to the Village Club!
So as January is usually a month off for us we have planned extra concerts in February/early March to mark this:

We also would like to remind you:
We still do not charge a booking fee for advance tickets that are sent out in the post. However on arrival when you show your tickets you will see that there is a blue postage donation box on the ticket desk for voluntary contributions which helps us with the mailing out costs.
There is a bar at The Village Club in Nettlebed so you must buy your drinks from the venue.
We do not send out raffle ticket sellers – instead if you wish to participate in the raffle you can buy your tickets at the door as you go in or from the desk at the interval.
We also ask that you please respect the residents of Nettlebed by parking sensibly and keeping noise to a minimum when leaving the venue after the shows.

A caller will guide you through the dances while ceilidh band Nedron’s Jig provide the live music. Dances include the likes of Cumberland Square 8, Virginia Reel, Gay Gordons and The Willow Tree. No experience necessary!
