Happy 14th birthday to Military Wives Choirs!

We couldn't rehearse together… so we did THIS instead.

Every Tuesday, around 25 amazing members of from around the world join me for a virtual rehearsal. 🌍🎶

For all sorts of reasons, they can’t access a regular choir where they are — so we bring the choir to them! ❤️

But there was one thing we’d never actually experienced… hearing ourselves as a choir.

So, we took on the BIG challenge of creating our very own digital virtual recording. 😍

Everyone nervously recorded their own part, in their own homes, and sent their recordings to me. Then came the slightly techy bit… 🎧💻

I somehow turned all those individual voices into the sound of everyone singing together in one room!

And I am honestly OVERJOYED with the result. 🥹❤️

I cannot wait to share the full version with the choir tomorrow — I think they’re going to be just as blown away as I am!

POV: IT’S WEDS NIGHT… 👀🎶

…and you suddenly realise Happy Helly Choir is BACK! 🥳❤️

After a little summer break, we’re READY to get back to doing what we do best… SINGING! 🎤✨

There’ll be:
🎶 New songs
🎵 Old favourites
😂 LOTS of laughs
💃 And probably some questionable dancing… 👀🤣

We’re back TONIGHT at 8pm in Boxmoor and I cannot WAIT to see my choir family again! 🥰

☀️ BANK HOLIDAY VIBES! ☀️
So… what are YOU up to today? 😍 Are you out and about, having a lazy one, eating ALL the food, or making the most of the last little bit of summer?!

I’m having one final family day today after an absolutely wonderful two weeks with my loved ones ❤️🥰 Lots of memories made, lots of laughs and definitely lots of food! (Here's a pic of me and my unit on the Mail Rail in London- highly recommend!)

And I’m SO excited that September starts TOMORROW! 🎉🎶 Which means my choirs are back this week and I honestly cannot wait to get back to doing what I love with some of my favourite people! 🥰

Bring on a brand new year of singing, smiling, laughing and making a LOT of noise! 🎤💃🕺

Singing and connection!

We all need connection in our lives.

Group singing combines music with social interaction. That sense of belonging and synchronising with other people can be particularly powerful for wellbeing.

Even singing with others online (and not physically together) brings the shared connection benefits.

Part 2 of why singing is not just about the music!

Singing is SUCH a mood booster!

Singing can trigger the brain’s reward system. Singing and music can activate brain areas involved in pleasure and reward. That can contribute to feelings of enjoyment and motivation.

Music also connects strongly with emotion and memory.
A familiar song can bring back a person, place or moment almost instantly. That emotional connection can change how we feel in the present.

Isn't singing just fab?

Singing is not just about the music!

There are so many other benefits.

Today were taking about breathing.

Singing naturally involves controlled breathing and longer exhalations. For some people, this can help them feel calmer and less physically tense.

Why not sing a few long phrases today 😊
