Huge congratulations to RNAS Culdrose Community FC on being named Cornwall FA Club of the Year 2026! 🎉

With over 20 teams, countless volunteers and a commitment to making football inclusive and accessible for everyone, they’re a brilliant example of what can happen when a community pulls together.

We’re really proud that Helstonbury is able to play a small part in that, supporting the club with the purchase of kit for the Merlins team. 💛

Helstonbury is all about bringing people together, having a brilliant time and raising money to put back into our local community. So it’s lovely to see some of that support helping local players get out there and do what they love. ⚽️🙌

🏆 Club of the Year 2026 — RNAS Culdrose Community FC

And last but not least, we finish our awards spotlight with a club whose impact, history and community spirit truly stood out this year.

For 79 years, RNAS Culdrose Community FC has been at the heart of both Royal Navy and Cornish football. Since their first season in 1947/48, the club has grown into a thriving community hub — supporting Naval families, local families, and over 20 teams across youth, adult, female, disability and veterans football.

Their nominations told a powerful story of inclusion, opportunity and community impact. One combined quote captured the spirit of what people wrote:

“Culdrose is a fantastic, family‑friendly club built on volunteers who give everything to support over 20 teams. They create opportunities where none existed before, inspire girls’ football at the most southerly point in Britain, nurture young stars, and bring genuine joy to the community. Their unity, passion and commitment make football affordable, inclusive and for the right reasons, a club that goes above and beyond for every player, every family, every generation.”

From transforming girls’ football in South Cornwall, to volunteers fundraising for facility improvements, to coaches and grounds staff who give countless hours, the club embodies inclusion over glory, community over competition and opportunity over barriers.

💙WHAT AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND! 💙

We wanted to give a HUGE Helstonbury shout-out to Cdr Scooby Plenty, ditsandbimbles who is currently taking on an absolutely mammoth challenge! 🥾🌊

This summer, Scooby is walking the South West and South Coast Coastal Paths over 15 days, setting off from his beloved RNAS Culdrose Football Club and making his way all the way to Fratton Park, home of his other football passion, Portsmouth FC. ⚽️

And he is doing it all to raise money for two brilliant causes: The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) and the University of Portsmouth Veterans Outreach. 💙

He is now on LEG 8 OF 15 and, judging by his latest update from around Brixham, it is safe to say this challenge is absolutely brutal! 😳🔥

But he is still going. Still walking. Still putting one foot in front of the other and smashing it.

𝗘𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻, 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼! 👏👏👏

From all of us at Helstonbury, we think you are doing an epic and incredible job, Scooby. What a challenge, what a cause and what an absolute mammoth effort. You are an absolute MACHINE! 💙
