Who Is Jack?

Jack is a well travelled Cornishman who likes to share his stories with people of all ages. Those who listen to his stories often describe Jack as a well rooted, enchanting and open minded guy.

Like many of the best bits of our work Jack was developed organically and is entirely imaginary. Cousin Jack's is a Cornish company creating inspiring work for family audiences.

Bobo, had a fab time out in Cornish schools! The first mini-tour of our new show, The Fake News Navigator, has come to an end and we had the best of times. A big thank you to all of the schools that welcomed us so warmly!

Created in partnership with Caroline Pedler and based on her character from The Accidental Gardener our new show was commissioned by PK Porthcurno Museum of Global Communications and Ofcom to support young people navigate fake news in a digital world.

🏆 AND THE WINNER IS... St Catherine's C of E School and Nursery in Launceston!

Your school has won 1x free performance of The Fake News Navigator in May. Keslowena!

We are absolutely blown away by the response from the competition! Over the last week, 575 of you commented across Facebook and Instagram, casting 472 votes for 76 (!) different Cornish schools. That is incredible — and far, far beyond anything we expected.

With votes weighted by pupil numbers (to keep things fair for smaller schools), St Catherine's topped the leaderboard with a stunning 0.35 votes per pupil. Congratulations to everyone who rallied for them — what a campaign!

BUT THERE IS MORE...

We have been genuinely overwhelmed by how many schools and communities want The Fake News Navigator. So we've gone back to the drawing board, crunched the numbers, and we're working on a new way to offer more heavily subsidised performances to schools across Cornwall — and we'll be getting in touch with every school that entered this competition at the start of next week.

📩 If your school was nominated, please ask your school secretary to keep an eye on their inbox from Monday. We'll be emailing with details of how your school can book a performance.

The response has shown us just how much Cornwall's schools value live performance and creative learning — and we can't wait to bring Bobo and The Fake News Navigator to as many children as possible.

🚨 THE FAKE NEWS NAVIGATOR — WHO'S WINNING? 🚨

The votes are pouring in for our FREE school performance giveaway — and here’s your first look at the leaderboard!

We’ve had over 400 votes across Facebook and Instagram from 80+ Cornish schools. To keep things fair, we’re ranking schools by votes per pupil, using Ofsted’s published pupil numbers. That means a small village school with a brilliant campaign has every chance of beating a big town school with twice the votes.

Last week we had the most wonderful time in R&D for our brand new show — brilliant artists, brilliant energy, and some brilliant new collaborators joining the Cousin Jack’s family for the first time. 🎉
There’s something really special about getting to experiment and play with ideas months before you hit the rehearsal room for real. We are SO excited about where this is heading.
Tour starts May 2026. That’s all we’re saying for now. 😄🎭

Splann! A brand new show is coming to Cornish primary schools.

Cousin Jack’s is developing an exciting new production exploring how children and young people can navigate disinformation in the digital age. Produced in partnership with PK Porthcurno Museum of Global Communications – Museum of Global Communications as part of an Ofcom commission, the show will bring author-illustrator Caroline Pedler gorgeous character Bobo – from her beloved picture book ‘The Accidental Gardener’ – to the stage for the very first time.

We're thrilled that PK Porthcurno chose to work with us on the young-person-focused performance element of this important project, and deeply grateful to Caroline for entrusting us with her warm, hopeful character.

And that is that! Our 10th anniversary season of The Mousehole Cat at the Solomon Browne Memorial Hall has come to an end, so from all of us - MEUR RAS/THANK YOU!

Nearly 4,000 of you joined us across 37 completely sold-out performances. Every single show. Sold out. What felt very special was that 43% of you had seen the show before and came back to visit us again – many bringing new little people to meet Mowzer for the first time.

To everyone who's made this show part of your Christmas – thank you. Ten years - blimey.
