We tend to put the rocks back for eco reasons afterwards, does that still matter on beaches? I've seen lots of people talking about it for nature trails but not by the sea. Do the waves just knock them back down anyways?

I HAD to make sure I took a photo of the first rose I saw blooming this year. Turns out it's this beautiful pink ruffled rose from the public gardens and it smells divine. Did you know that before vanilla became widely available, rose was the defacto most popular flavour for sweet foods? If I ruled the world it still would be 🩷

One thing I'll swear to you all, on the off chance I ever discover a new species, I'm gonna be insistent on giving it a name that tells you absolutely nothing about it.
Green-veined white, or Pieris napi, lay their caterpillars on a variety of wildflowers- something most widespread butterflies have in common. Among their favourites are cuckoo flowers, hedge mustard and nasturtium- all good options to plant to bring butterflies to the garden 🌷🪻🌻

First time getting a photo of one of these beauties! A (specifically male) Chaffinch. You can tell the males apart by the gorgeous pinkish-red colour of their chests, whereas the females are a mixture of blonde and brown. They're surprisingly common and widespread, but very shy and fast-moving so I've managed to all this time without a good photo. I'm not exactly sure why this little guy was so bold, but we are in the middle of the breeding season so maybe he just has a lot on his mind.
