We can't wait to welcome to HAC with Helmsley Literary Festival! Ilaria will be running two workshops, one for adults and one for children!

For children 11years and under - Sun 20 Sep, 10am
This workshop includes a storytelling performance. There’s also a chance to create your own comic book story inspired by the characters that live in Honey Pot village. There will be puppets you can take inspiration from to create your own characters.

Join Nicola, star of Our Farm on the Dales, for a Whistledown Farm adventure!

This is a warm and beautifully observed farm adventure series, perfect for readers 8+ and fans of Jacqueline Wilson, Michael Morpurgo, Dick King Smith and The Snow Foal.

It's winter at Whistledown Farm and there's plenty for Ava to do – from harvesting the holly from the woods to sell at the Christmas market, to helping a hibernating hedgehog, to sledging. Then Ava finds a little kitten wandering up the farm track and suddenly the winter days get even busier for Ava.

We can't wait to welcome Luke Wright to HAC with Helmsley Literary Festival - Sat 19 September, 7pm!

Later Life Letter tells the story of Luke Wright’s adoption – the life he leads, and the one he might have done. What’s it like to stumble across your birth mother on Facebook? How do you honour the parents who have raised you while satisfying a curiosity about where you came from? Is it telling that you married a social worker?

Wright navigates his audience through a warm and honest hour of poems and stand-up with the wit, pathos, and silliness that has made him one of the most popular live poets in England.
