Whilst today was the final of our special open days remembering Mum (Chris), she will not be forgotten! Thank you if you came to visit, or even if you thought of us. It was very important to me to have these few days in August of this still being her shop. It has been lovely to see you all, sharing memories (and let’s be honest, shedding a tear or two). I’m honestly just so proud of her for making this place so special and building a lovely community behind it.
Mum loved it here, she had no desire to retire: Had she lived to 100 she would have still been behind the counter (I truly believe that). For that reason: I just want to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you! Without your continued support, Mum wouldn't have had a career that gave her such joy for 42 years! It goes without saying, I wish we could have had longer with her.
As for me, and the future of this shop: I'll speak to you in September. For now though, all that remains for me to say is… Thanks Mum!
