Today would have been Queen Elizabeth II's 100th birthday. It still seems strange that she's no longer with us. She was such an ever-present part of my life. A few years ago I completed this portrait of her for the Knitting and Stitching Show. I'm still pleased with what I captured of her likeness and her sometimes sense of fun. Still available if you would like her on your wall x

Busy day in studio πŸ’™

1. Blending flowers with silk fibres, change of background colour.
2. Finally happy with composition.
3. Cover with netting to hold wool and fibres in place. Adding warm water.
4. And rubbing in olive oil soap.
5. Two hours of wet felting helped hugely by my Moy Mackay Mool πŸ’™
6. Pinching the fibres to check if it's felted enough.
7. Rinse out the soap thoroughly.
8. Roll, stretch and press into shape.
9. Hang out to dry ready for next stage tomorrow.
I love my job ☺️
