Hedon Mixed Voice Choir is delighted to invite you to our summer concert, “Joy of Song”, on Saturday 27th June 2026 at St Columba’s Church, Holderness Road, Hull.

With a varied programme of uplifting music, favourite melodies and some wonderful harmonies, we’re looking forward to sharing an evening of song, laughter and community with you. 🎵💛

🕖 Doors open 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start

🎟️ £5 entry, payable on the door

Today we celebrate a very special milestone as our wonderful Colin turns 80 years young! 🥳

Many of our choir members gathered at our Summer Social last night, which gave us the perfect opportunity to celebrate Colin and thank him for everything he does for Hedon Mixed Voice Choir.

Whilst many people know Colin as Gilly’s husband, choir members know he’s so much more than that! He’s our Treasurer, accountant, print master, problem solver, organiser, helper and general dogsbody. If there’s a job that needs doing, chances are Colin has already done it, quietly and without fuss.

Behind the scenes, he gives countless hours to keeping the choir running smoothly, and we are incredibly grateful for all his hard work, dedication and support.

Last night, Colin thanked everyone for his cards and gifts, but the thanks really belong to him. HMVC simply wouldn’t be the same without him. 💙

We hope you have a fantastic day celebrating with your family and friends, Colin. Thank you for everything you do for our choir, and here’s to many more years of music, friendship and laughter.

A very special birthday shoutout to our lovely choir member Steve, who is celebrating his 70th birthday this week! 🥳

We couldn’t let the occasion pass without marking it together, so we had a little celebration at choir last week before Steve headed off to enjoy his birthday properly this week 🎂🎶

Thank you Steve for being such a valued part of Hedon Mixed Voice Choir. Your contribution, friendship and sense of fun are truly appreciated by us all 💛

🎶 Back Together & Looking Ahead 🎶

Last week, some of us were back at choir for our AGM, while others were enjoying a well-earned rest and making the most of what was left of our Christmas break.

We’re now turning our attention to the months ahead, dusting off the music for our summer concerts and getting ready to start rehearsals again tomorrow. Excitingly, Gilly has once again chosen some fabulous pieces for us to learn, with a couple of much-loved favourites thrown in too, which is always a winner! 🎼💛

If you’ve ever thought about joining a friendly, welcoming choir, we’re still looking for new members. We are looking for people full of enthusiasm and a love of singing.

🎶 Happy New Year from Hedon Mixed Voice Choir 🎶

As we step into a brand-new year, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported Hedon Mixed Voice Choir throughout the past year. Whether you’ve sung with us, cheered us on from the audience, supported our events, or shared kind words along the way, it truly means the world.

We’re incredibly proud of our choir, our wonderful musical director Gilly, and the sense of community that continues to grow around us. Music has a special way of bringing people together, and we’re so grateful to share that journey with you.

Here’s to 2026 😊 A year we hope will be filled with more harmony, performances, friendships and memorable moments. We can’t wait to welcome you back to future concerts and events very soon.

🎶✨ What a Wonderful Finale to Our Christmas Season ✨🎶

Last night we rounded off our Christmas concerts with a beautiful evening at Holderness Academny, and our hearts are absolutely full.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, supported us, and shared in the festive spirit. Your encouragement throughout the year means the world to us. ❤️💛💙

We were also absolutely delighted to be joined by some of the Holderness Academy students, who performed beautifully and added something really special to the evening. Their confidence, talent and enthusiasm were a joy to see, well done to all of them! 👏

One of our highlights was singing Adore, a stunning piece written by Graham Kendrick and Martin Chalk. It’s a truly moving song to perform, and we hope you enjoy the video as much as we loved singing it. 🥹

As we wrap up 2025, we’re already looking forward to seeing you at events in 2026. We can’t wait to bring more music, harmony and joy. Don’t forget to keep an eye on our socials for upcoming dates. 😉

🎄✨ Join us for a Very Merry Christmas Concert! ✨🎄

We can’t wait to welcome you tomorrow evening for our festive Christmas Concert, performed by Hedon Mixed Voice Choir alongside the wonderful Holderness Academy Students 🎶💛

⏰ Doors open 7.00pm for a prompt 7.30pm start
📍 Holderness Academy, Preston
🎟 Tickets just £5… and you can pay on the door!

Expect a joyful evening filled with Christmas favourites, beautiful harmonies and plenty of festive cheer. There’ll also be a seasonal hamper raffle and light refreshments during the interval.
