A huge congratulations to Kei Bailey Scripts and the cast and crew of Once, After, which has been chosen by audience vote to represent Sleaford Little Theatre at the Hunstanton One Act Play Festival.
We’re especially proud to see HP members involved in bringing Kei’s original writing to the stage, but this achievement belongs to the whole Once, After team, including the brilliant cast members, creatives and supporters from beyond Heckington Players.
It’s fantastic to see local theatre groups, performers and writers coming together to champion original writing and take it forward to another festival stage.
Well done to everyone involved, Hunstanton awaits!

Is Claudette’s life as perfect as it looks?

A few rehearsal glimpses from Perfect Life, an original one-act play written and directed by David Whipps.

Claudette has the perfect life: a devoted husband, a beautiful daughter, and a home she has carefully shaped into something warm and flawless.
But as her husband’s career rises, a quiet unease begins to settle in. Small cracks appear. Silences grow longer. And the life she once trusted starts to feel unfamiliar.

Featuring Julie Futcher as Claudette, Lois Johnson-Smith as Younger Claudette, and Ed Griggs as Archie.

🎭 Still time to catch it! 🎭
Sleaford Little Theatre’s One Act Plays opened last night, and there’s still chance to see Once, After, written by Kei Bailey, featuring Heckington Players members.

A fantasy one-act where three unscrupulous bounty hunters face a dangerous proposition in a world where magic is forbidden — this sounds like a festival piece well worth catching.

Performances continue until 30th May, so do go along and support original writing, local theatre and our wider am-dram community.

A glimpse into rehearsals for The Quiet Between the Guns…
With the set beginning to take shape and costumes bringing the period to life, rehearsals are underway for The Quiet Between the Guns, an original short play written by Jaqui Hodgetts and directed by Jaqui Hodgetts and Jules Jones.
Telling the story of Mary and Robert, the play is about finding hope in difficult times, and showing that happiness can be found in adversity when fate takes a hand.
It also explores how easily situations can be misunderstood, and how perception can shape the future.
Featuring Amanda Dawson as Mary, Joseph Gilliard as Robert, and Hannah Priestley as Evelyn.
See The Quiet Between the Guns as part of our One Act Play Evening on Friday 19th June at Great Hale Village Hall.
Tickets: £6

As we’re gearing up for our upcoming Murder Mystery, Hi-de-Die, Campers!, we were reminded of this little nugget from the HP archive.
Here we have the show poster and programme from when Heckington Players brought Hi-de-Hi! to the stage.
Were you part of this production? Did you come and see it? Or do you have any favourite memories from the show?
Pop them in the comments — we’d love to hear them.

Who are they throwing shade at? 👀

Rehearsals are well underway for George Is Leaving, which will be shared as a sneak preview/dress rehearsal showing ahead of Heckington Players taking it to the Hunstanton One Act Play Festival weekend in July.

Office politics, suspicious side-eyes, questionable assumptions… and one quiet colleague who may be far more interesting than anyone realised.

You can catch this preview as part of our One Act Play Evening on Friday 19th June at Great Hale Village Hall, alongside two original one-act plays by local writers.

Tickets: £6
