Good news! That hippy film we showed at the Picture House a couple of years ago is now available to watch on our website. 🎥

Sorry it’s taken us a while to sort it, but we’re really pleased to finally share it with you. If you missed it back then or fancy seeing it again, head over to the site and give it a watch.

We’d love to hear what you think! 🌼

🎶✨ What a magical day at St. Augustine’s today as we brought out Holly's suitcase full of musical instruments! The children loved exploring the sounds and rhythms, and they’ve been creating some truly wonderful songs and poems. 🎻🥁🎤

They were especially excited to hear the amazing stories of the elders and have been so inspired by them. The children have created many beautiful songs and poems in response to these stories, and they’ve got plenty of thoughtful questions about "the olden days" ready to ask the elders. 💬👧👵

We can’t wait to bring the children and elders together next week to share their creations and conversations! A huge thank you to the National Lottery for making this project possible. 🙏💛

🌍✨ Working with the wonderful children at St. Augustine’s has been such a joy! Their stories are rich and diverse, reflecting their backgrounds from all over the world. It’s heartwarming to see them getting along so well and building connections through storytelling. 💖

We had an amazing time as they listened to Mary's stories about her experiences working in the chocolate factory in Halifax. 🍫 Their excitement was contagious, and it inspired them to create a fun song about the kinds of foods they love to eat! 🎶🍕🥗 Accompanied by the magical Holly on the Kora.

A huge thank you to the National Lottery for supporting this incredible project, allowing us to bring these stories and experiences to life! 🙌

🌟 I’m so excited to announce that we’ll be working with the amazing Holly Marland again on the Story Exchange Project! 🎶✨ This project brings together elders and children to share stories, songs, and experiences, bridging the generational gap and celebrating our diverse community. 💬👵👧

We’re in the planning stages now, and we’ll be kicking things off in Spring 2023. I’m also thrilled to share that we’ll be working with the Women’s Activity Centre, which supports elders from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, alongside the wonderful students from Hebden Royd School! 💛 In the second cohort, we’ll partner with St. Augustine’s School and Eden Court Care Home for even more beautiful exchanges.

A big thank you to the National Lottery for supporting this meaningful project – we can’t wait to get started! 🙌✨

✨ Today, we had the absolute pleasure of working with the incredible children at Hebden Road School, and we were blown away by how thoughtful and considerate they were when learning about the experiences of women from India and Pakistan who immigrated here in their teens, often to get married. 💬👩‍👧

Their questions for the women were not only beautiful but deeply poignant, as they reflected on what it must have been like to leave their homes and families behind at such a young age. It was truly moving to witness how empathetic and reflective the children were, imagining themselves in those shoes. 💭💛

Here are some of their thoughtful questions and beautiful drawings that capture the depth of their understanding and curiosity. 🖼️✨

Big gratitude to the National Lottery for making this project possible.
