I guess I’d just got tired of it all. The inherent pressure to be ever present, an ever scrolling fear that if you don’t post something, you’ll somehow disappear. Creativity wanes and waxes - reconciling this with social media’s drive to be constantly performing can’t be good for anyone really. At the beginning of March I decided to try and have a break from it all. I stopped posting and only checked in to Instagram to pick up messages. No looking. No comparing. No constantly picking up my phone to see if I’d disappeared yet.

It’s been nice. It’s been…freeing.

Huge thanks to the people who got in touch to see if I was OK. (Much appreciated).

I’m going to tentatively start putting some new work out on here again, as I get ready for in June, but hopefully I’ve learnt my lesson that I don’t have to be ‘always on’ and I don’t have to worry about what will happen if I’m not.
