Another lovely review 🥰🙏

I had never thought about attempting calligraphy- so when a friend bought me a place at Jaime’s Dip Pen Calligraphy Workshop I arrived with no experience and low expectations of my ability to succeed.
However, I was welcomed by Jaime and met eight other people with the same non-existent skills. We were very nervous beginners but were put at our ease by her confidence and the carefully prepared lesson she had ready.
Jaime gave us a detailed explanation of how a calligraphy pen works, supplied us with worksheets specially chosen for beginners which steadily moved us forward from simply holding the pen correctly through to exercises to create thick and thin lines which then lead us to writing simple but impressive phrases. Throughout the two hours Jaime guided and encouraged us, made us smile and made us cups of tea!
We each took home a gift bag containing the equipment we had used, more worksheets and some helpful information sheets.
It was a very pleasant afternoon and I came away feeling confident that I had the beginnings of a new decorative, useful skill - and that I’d had fun.

Dear Jaime

Thank you so much for the Beginners Calligraphy Workshop you held on Friday, you were amazing at securing a last minute venue change as on one of the hottest days of the year I think we would have all struggled with the level of heat and with the air conditioning within Ingoldisthorpe Church Hall this proved to be the perfect venue.

I signed up for the workshop without knowing anyone else who would be there but what an amazing friendly group of people to spend 2 hours with learning the basics of calligraphy with a dip pen, Jaime was amazing very informative with really helpful clear instructions and very supportive and encouraging with our learning.

We enjoyed plentiful drinks, cheese scones, cakes and strawberries throughout the afternoon, Jaime was so organised the afternoon flowed perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would definitely recommend attending alone , with a friend or a small group you will learn something amazing.

I am enjoying practising all that I learnt to enable me to progress and join the next workshop.

✨ Thank You for a Wonderful Afternoon of Calligraphy ✨

Thank you to everyone who joined me for our Beginner's Calligraphy Workshop today.

What a fun and interesting group of like-minded people! The afternoon was filled with creativity, mindfulness, laughter and plenty of encouragement as everyone took their very first steps into the world of dip pen calligraphy.

Thankfully, we avoided the heat and enjoyed two blissful hours of practice in the cool comfort of Ingoldisthorpe Church Hall. On a day that reached well over 30°C, the air-conditioned venue was a real blessing!

Everyone attending was completely new to calligraphy. We covered the fundamentals of using a dip pen, learned basic strokes and letterforms, and progressed to writing names, words and phrases of their choice. The feedback was incredibly positive, and it was wonderful to see everyone's confidence grow throughout the session.

The refreshments also went down a treat, with cheese scones, cake, biscuits and fresh strawberries keeping everyone fuelled for an afternoon of creativity. 🍓☕️

Each participant left with additional practice sheets and paper, along with their own beginner's starter kit, including a pen, nib and ink, so they can continue developing their skills at home.

Thank you all for making it such a lovely afternoon. I hope you enjoy your calligraphy journey and look forward to seeing some of you again at future workshops!

🌞 Venue Update for Tomorrow's Calligraphy Workshop 🌞

With the current heatwave and no air conditioning at The Mill Kitchen, I've decided to move tomorrow's workshop to a cooler venue with air-conditioning, so that everyone can enjoy the experience.
(We will return to the beautiful setting at The Mill Kitchen, Norfolk Lavender at a future date 🙏)

📍 New Venue: Ingoldisthorpe Village Hall / Church Rooms
🚗 Plenty of parking available
⏰ 1:00pm to 3:00 pm

There will be tea, coffee, herbal teas, soft drinks, cake, and plenty of cold refreshments available. If you have any allergies, dietary requirements, or beverage preferences, please let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate them.

I want everyone to be comfortable and have a lovely, relaxing day of calligraphy. Please let me know if the venue change causes any issues, otherwise I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
