Copperhouse Wireworks - Cornwall Hand twisted copper wire Celtic tree sculptures. Hand made in Hayle, Cornwall.

What started as a hobby, as part of art therapy, has now grown into a house full of trees! I really wanted to share my enjoyment of my tree sculptures with others and felt now was the right time to do this. I have drawn inspiration from the Celtic Tree of Life and the picturesque trees of Cornwall. All my trees are hand twisted, using jewellery grade copper wire and as a result each one is a unique piece of art.

Public service announcement.
JAM FIRST!!!
If you’re using AI to make your posters, please make sure to double check them before posting. I’ve seen pasties which were crimped all the way round, 2 different height sea horizons in the same picture and now this nonsense!
Everyone knows it’s jam first! Unless they’ve been importing their cream teas from Devon that is… who knows.

A few bits I’ve been working on this week, a large copper windswept tree and coming in at around an inch tall another mini willow plus the roots of 2 more.

Back at the Waves Artisan Market again tomorrow, so pop along to the Queens Hotel and have a peruse of the local artisanal wares, meet the makers and have a chat. 10-4 Wednesday and Thursday.

Currently making some mini trees and was asked if I could make a mini willow. I wasn’t sure how they would turn out as I haven’t made one before, but here’s my first attempt (it will get a final adjustment once attached to a stone).

Looking forward to having my Thursday chippies! Just come to the Queens Hotel for them, and while you’re here, have a look around our fabulous market. I’ll be there both days 10-4 if you would like to come and meet the talented makers of a wide range of Cornish goods. Tazzies Cashmere is back again, can’t wait to hear her laugh again. 🤣

This week's line up... We have a real bumper week with 22 fantastic stalls on Wednesday and just a few less for Thursday. Alongside our amazing regulars we have Chapel Ceramics (who join us roughly once a month) here for both days, Cheeky Choughs here on Thursday for her second visit, Noel Hargreaves, raising money for Guide Dogs for the Blind, in for his second visit also this Wednesday, Sallys Silver Shop will be making her debut in the ballroom on Wednesday, The Littlest Baker's cookies will be with us on Thursday (whilst Emma is busy baking more!), Birgit's Soap Bar is here for her second week, Whimbrel Illustrations is back in his fortnightly slot after a little R&R, and the lovely Tazzies Cashmere will be with us again on both days!
Come along one or both days and you're in for a treat... 10 til 4 at the Queens Hotel opposite Penzance's prom 😊

Look at these little fluff balls!
That’s why we haven’t seen Steve’s girlfriends for a while. Here she is showing off their new chicks, probably hatched the day before yesterday when we saw her again.

There seems to be less this year after a rough stormy winter, the bird flu and then you get nasty person do this!! There will be chicks out there left with only one parent to look after them so might not survive. 😩

Nature’s tree of life.
Sue at the market collects local seaweed and presses using a process dating back to the victorian times to create these lovely pieces of natural art, including details of the species and location where it was found.
Couldn’t resist taking a couple of pics with these beautiful examples of Irish moss next to one of my trees of life.

Big thanks to everyone who came to visit us at the market over the last couple of days. Someone who was on holiday (originally from Cornwall and coincidentally was born in the same hospital as myself 😆) came along especially to see my trees. 😊 Thanks again, and I feel extremely blessed when someone takes the time to come and see me in person.

You can find me at Hayle Day Care Centre this Sunday (and the second Sunday of each month) from 10-3 alongside lots of local talented artisans and at the Queens Hotel Wednesdays and Thursdays 10-4.
