About Andy

Andy started DJing back in 1988 with his first ever gig at the Black Horse Pub in Parr for a fee of just £30. Over the years he has built up a reputation for Quality and Reliability juggling pub residencies with Private Functions, carting around 6 heavy boxes of 12 inch singles to every gig. Andy started to make the transition to CD when his residency, Ronnies Bar in Warrington, had a

major refurbishment and became the Buzz Bar, equipped with only one Technics SL1210 Turntable, much to his shock and disappointment, giving way to the increasingly popular Denon DN2000F Twin CD System. Throughout the 90's Andy also secured residencies in Lowies Nightclub and later the Plaza, followed by Reflections within the Stakis Hotel which then became the Hilton and now the Mercure, before finally leaving the Private Function market as the Bar and Club Work became more demanding and rewarding. This included venues such as the aforementioned Buzz Bar in Warrington, Yates's Wine Lodge in Manchester and Ibiza Bar in Wigan not to mention the Bank Holiday Sundays at Nexus. A two year stint at the brand new Chicago Rock Cafe in St.Helens saw vinyl being phased out completely and introduced Andy to a more visual format, Music Video, firstly on VHS and DVD (carried in a HUGE suitcase) then later on Computer which, thankfully, saw the end of the heavy boxes and luggage. On realising the benefits of Visuals and Music Videos, the way they expanded the party beyond the dancefloor to the far reaching corners of the venue, Andy made it his mission to expand his Music Video collection, now encompassing over 6 decades of music and many a varied genre. Andy returned to Yates's in Manchester and the Reef in Warrington for a brief period before he heard about an exciting new opportunity in 2003 at a new bar in Ashton-in-Makerfield, called Bar Aqua, where he resided for almost 10 years. It was at Bar Aqua where he met Alex, who had recently completed her Early Years Foundation Degree at college, and with her enthusiasm for working with children saw them teaming up, (much to the relief of his wife Sara who was almost in the frame), to go back on the road, initially for Children's Discos and Family Parties such as Christenings and Holy Communions, and then, once again, Weddings and Evening Functions. After a seven year break from DJing, due to the demand of the family Photo Booth and Magic Mirror business, Covid came upon us, and with it a blanket ban on parties so Andy, needing something to do, took to the decks again to stream DJ sets online, which rekindled his interest in playing to partygoers so he updated his kit to the latest equipment from Pioneer, RCF and Chauvet, ready for a return to DJing as well as Photoboothing Weddings and Parties in 2021. Terms and Conditions of Service

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions are the standard conditions by which DJ Andy Roberts, hereinafter referred to as the supplier, agrees with the client to supply the service specified in the booking form, or email, as applicable. These Terms and Conditions, along with the completed booking form from the client, and the confirmation email from the supplier constitute the full agreement between the client and supplier. This agreement supersedes all prior discussions, and these Terms and Conditions can only be varied if expressed in writing by the supplier. Confirmation

A completed booking form and a £50 non-refundable booking fee is required to secure a booking. A confirmation email will be issued upon receipt of the booking form and booking fee, at which point this agreement will be binding. Client’s Obligations

The client must ensure that permission has been obtained from the venue for use of a DJ / Mobile Disco as applicable. The client must ensure that the venue provides the supplier with access to the venue 60 minutes prior to the hire start time. If an earlier set up time than that is required then an additional charge will apply. The client must ensure that there is clear access to load and unload at the venue, with a free parking space for the supplier for the duration of the supplier’s time on site. The client is responsible for any parking or toll fees. The client must inform the supplier of any circumstances that would make setting the equipment up more demanding, such as stairs, or long distances from the unloading area to the set up area. This will be taken into account before a booking can be accepted, and an additional charge may apply. The client must ensure that there is sufficient level surface space at the venue (at least 4m wide x 2m deep), indoors or under cover, with access to a standard 240 volt 13 amp mains power socket within 5 metres of the set up area. If the venue needs to supply an extension lead to meet the above requirement it must be taped to the floor. The supplier accepts no responsibility for accidents arising from this. If the set up area is located in a marquee then the above level surface and power requirements must be met. The client is responsible for any damage caused to the supplier’s equipment. The client will be charged the full cost of any repair or replacement required should the damage be due to the negligence of the client or their guests. Supplier’s Obligations

The supplier will provide the service as specified on the confirmation email. The supplier agrees to have the music operational for a minimum of 80% during the hire period. Operations may need to be interrupted for service and maintenance of the equipment. If the service is not ready to commence at the agreed time due to the fault of the supplier, then the hire period will be extended after the original finish time of the hire, however if the supplier is unable to set up at the agreed time, or start the service, due to over running of previous activities by the client or venue there will be no extension to the agreed finish time. If the supplier is unable to attend due to circumstances beyond its control, including but are not limited to severe weather conditions, traffic delays, breakdown of its vehicles, sickness or equipment failure, the client or venue will be contacted as soon as possible. In these extremely unlikely instances the supplier will endeavour to arrange a replacement from an alternative supplier, at no extra cost to the client, however if this isn’t possible then the total fee paid, including the booking fee, will be refunded in full, and any subsequent claims for incidental damages will not be accepted. Payment

The full amount, less the booking fee, must be paid no later than 14 days before the event date, either by cash or bank transfer. In the event of non payment by this time the booking may be treated as cancelled, and subject to the cancellation fees specified below. Cancellation

Any cancellation by the client must be made in writing to the supplier. In the event of cancellation by the client, the following cancellation fees will apply :

Within 14 days of paying the booking fee (or 48 hours in the case of bookings made within 14 days before the event date) : No fee payable

After 14 days of paying the booking fee but more than 90 days before the event date : No fee payable (further than the £50 booking fee)

Between 61 and 90 days before the event : 25% of the total fee

Between 31 and 60 days before the event : 50% of the total fee

Between 15 and 30 days before the event : 75% of the total fee

Within 14 days before the event : 100% of the total fee

Claims for any refunds will not be accepted. General

Guests are expected to conduct themselves in a polite and safe manner, at all times, in and around the equipment. The DJ deserves to be treated with the respect they deserve and will not tolerate any aggressive, abusive, violent or threatening behaviour under any circumstances. If he/she feels that their personal safety is at risk or the equipment is at risk of being damaged (or damaged already) due to unruly behaviour by the client or guests, the service may be terminated with immediate effect and no refund will be given, though the DJ will always make an attempt to speak to the client first to try and resolve the matter before terminating. The client’s rights as a statutory consumer are not affected.
