In the summer, lovely days are for the garden and cooler evenings are for quilting….
The light in my workroom in the evening is obviously very different cos the quilting on this quilt is catching the light tonight…
It’s called ‘All Airs and Graces!’ Made in 2016.
This was my take on traditional strippy quilts made in The North Country in the UK. Of course the original strippy quilts weren’t made of silk and were quite basic, made especially to keep you warm at night. The quilting on my quilt is my own design, drawn out on paper then transferred to the silk fabric, then quilted freemotion, hand guided…
That’s how I learned to use my longarm machine. I did hand guided work for 5 years before I ever had a computer, it’s the only way to gain proper experience and know your machine inside and out!!!
