We couldn’t agree more…Stage Managers - the unsung heroes! Organising props, supporting our directors, all the paperwork, managing our get-ins, being the calm backstage and making sure our actors are where they need to be with what they need to have! (Think ‘herding sheep’ but with actors instead 😉) - it’s no easy task!
We are so grateful to everyone who steps forward to work backstage on our shows…We couldn’t do it without you! ❤️🎭

Our next club night! 🎭You don’t have to be a member to attend, all are welcome! 🎲❤️

It’s lights down for ‘Educating Rita’ - and wow, what a week for our cast! A huge round of applause for Tony and Jo…what a challenge and they absolutely smashed it! 👏🏼🎭

A huge congratulations and thank you, to director Jacquie Penrose for bringing this wonderful play to the company! 🎭

And of course a shout out as well to our wonderful backstage team … producers, set design, stage management, lighting operation, sound operation, sorting props, designing programmes, organising Front of House…there is SO much hidden work that goes into getting a show on stage and we are so grateful to our hard-working team ❤️

Finally, thank you to our wonderful audiences, who come and support us production after production! We couldn’t do it without you! 🎭

Keep an eye out for information and rehearsal news coming soon, for our November production ‘Hound of the Baskervilles’ 🎭

Today we had the Get-In for ‘Educating Rita’ - Thank you to everyone for working so hard! ❤️

Still thinking about booking tickets? Here’s a mini Q and A with director Jacquie Penrose! 🎭

📘 What made you want to direct this play?

•I enjoy the challenge of working with a very small cast, it puts the emphasis firmly on the acting! And Educating Rita is one of the best two-handers there is!

📕 The play was first performed in 1980. Which of its themes are still relevant?

•Its themes of education and changing social circumstances are still as fresh as ever and its wit and humour bring it vividly to life.

📗 What can audiences expect from the play?

•Tony Johnson as Frank and Jo Langfield as Rita, have both risen to the challenge magnificently. I think we can promise the audience an evening of thoughtful, heart-warming and funny theatre!

“For me as an ex-teacher and first in the family to make it to university, the challenge was irresistible!”
