So I've spent the evening sketching it out, colouring and then going over in fineliner.

It's not perfect by any means but trying to recreate the circus font was a challenge. Might try and do it again but with a flat edged paintbrush... 🤔

Yesterday I spent an hour on a Google hangout with one of my oldest and best friends playing with watercolours. We followed a tutorial by Kate Rebecca Leach, from her fantastic book 'Creative Abstract Watercolour'.

I've been struggling to be creative of late so it was nice to just have a relaxed evening doing something a bit different.

It was back to the beach again last night as the weather was glorious. Hayling is actually a pebble beach but at low tide you get some sand which is great.

I was lucky to have my work bestie come see me for a beach picnic and to check I've not gone entirely insane from not doing much thanks to my ongoing back woes. So it was lovely to get out of the house for it and just relax by the water; one of my favourite things.

Yesterday I put my big girl pants on and bravely took myself off to a 'Paint Your Pet' event. It was not easy but it was fun, and it was nice to have some time to zone out and do something creative. Also feeling very proud of myself for getting over my mild terror at flying solo to this sort of thing.

Paige at is a fab teacher who really put me at ease, offered practical advice and tips of how to achieve a painting that actually resembled my beloved dog. Can't recommend this event enough.
