Hell of a weekend working on a 12 minute long saga with the lovely chaps. At this point we've worked together so much, that we know how the other operates when it comes to tracking generally. This is great because it means we get so much more time to play around with wild ideas. You would think listening to the same material over and over would drive you mad, but when the song is this enchanting and evolves that quickly in the studio it makes the whole process pretty damn enthralling.
Some key moments:
- I accidentally made secondary side snare sound like the n64 golden eye snare and I love it.
- guitars sounded ridiculously cool through an Ampeg 8x10 with and Audix D6. MAD, I know....
- I made do a kind of ad-lib bass "special FX" track where he played harmonics and string noises throughout the entire song and I put that through a whammy and 2 serial shimmer verbs for some crazy ethereal vibes.
- Even though@nicholasrscott only held my beloved lo-fi s**t trash mic for 30 seconds, it broke which made us both sad. Hopefully a simple solder fix to get it back to life.
Big props to for letting us make horrible noises for 48 hrs ✌️
