This August, our dancers will step into the magical world of Cinderella as we bring a full story ballet to life across an unforgettable week of dance, creativity, performance, and storytelling.

Summer School will give students the opportunity to experience what it feels like to be part of a full production journey — from the very first rehearsal right through to the final performance.

Throughout the week, dancers will:
• Learn choreography and develop performance and artistry skills
• Rehearse and build the full story of Cinderella
• Help create props and storytelling elements for the production
• Enjoy outdoor games, picnic lunches, arts & crafts, and plenty of magical surprises along the way

The week will conclude with a special performance for friends and family on Friday afternoon, where the full ballet will come together on stage.

Older students will have the opportunity to be cast in leading character roles, alongside supporting roles for our younger dancers, creating a truly special experience for every child involved. 💜

With over half of our places already filled, we'd love to welcome the remaining dancers before registrations close.

From our Tiny Dancers taking their very first ballet steps, to students growing in confidence, technique, friendships, and performance experience each week, we’re so proud of the warm and inspiring community we continue to build together.

There’s something really special about watching a child slowly begin to find their place.

For some dancers, it looks like jumping straight in.
For others, it’s standing quietly in their spot, watching carefully, and slowly beginning to feel part of the group around them.

At HDS, we believe those early moments matter deeply.
Because confidence is often built gently through consistency, encouragement, and the feeling of belonging before it’s ever seen in big performances or bold moments.

There will be no classes running this week, 25th May, for Half Term.

We hope all of our HDS families enjoy a lovely break and some time to rest and recharge before we head into an exciting final stretch of the term.

Classes will resume as normal the following week, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back into the studio soon. 💜

One of the things we value so deeply at Herts Dance Studio is giving our dancers meaningful performance opportunities that help them grow in confidence and artistry ✨

The AAB Performance Awards are such a special part of that journey.

Through solos and duets inspired by famous classical ballets, our dancers learn how to express emotion through movement, perform with confidence on stage, and work towards personal goals in a positive and supportive environment.

Senior dancers may also be offered the opportunity to attend the AAB Summer School in New York, training alongside dancers and professionals from around the world ⭐

We are always so proud of the commitment, courage, and growth our dancers show throughout the Performance Awards process.

At Herts Dance Studio, our dancers have the opportunity to take part in the American Academy of Ballet (AAB) Performance Awards ✨

This international, non-competitive ballet programme is offered in over 18 countries and allows dancers to perform beautiful classical ballet solos and duets inspired by famous ballets such as Swan Lake and Coppélia.

Dancers perform on stage in front of an audience and an international AAB judge, developing confidence, musicality, artistry, and a deeper connection to ballet as an art form.

Every dancer is recognised individually with a bronze, silver, or gold medal and certificate based on their own performance and stage presence, creating a supportive and encouraging experience for every student involved 🌟
