What a way to begin a new chapter for Jazz Hastings. 🎷✨

Last night we welcomed Jazz Hastings to its new home at Barnaby’s Lounge, and what a first concert it was.

A huge thank you to the exceptional Ivo Neame Trio: Ivo Neame on piano, Niklas Lukassen on bass and Finn Genockey on drums. Three remarkable musicians and a beautiful first night for Jazz Hastings at Barnaby’s.

And, of course, thank you to everyone who came, filled the room and supported live jazz in Hastings. You made the first night feel properly at home.

Special thanks to John Donaldson, Christine and Roger Carey for everything that goes on behind the scenes to keep Jazz Hastings thriving.

Ivo Neame is one of Europe’s most acclaimed modern jazz pianists — known for his work with Phronesis, Marius Neset, Mike Stern, and multiple award‑winning ECM and Edition Records projects. His music is inventive, witty, and full of rhythmic surprises.

He’s joined by rising star Finn Genockey on drums (grandson of Hastings drum legend Liam Genockey) and German bassist Niklas Lukassen, who has performed with artists including Kurt Rosenwinkel, Joe Lovano and Norma Winstone.

Expect world‑class interplay, serious musical firepower, and a close‑up performance in one of Hastings’ most intimate listening rooms.
